Chan POV

It had been a long day of work, but I wasn't finished yet- I had important things to chat with Min and Bin about- pertaining to "Super-secret shadow daddy duties" as Jeongin had coined them.

He knew we were up to something, working to exact revenge on the asshole who hurt him. What he didn't know was how deep the wormhole went- far deeper than his assault, or even Seungmin's- a horrifying secret society of the powerful and influential, guys like Kwan their peons, the real threat nearly untouchable for the average person, which is why they'd remained steadfast for so long.

I hated that Minho had gone without me to confront Kwan, but if I were being honest, it was for the best- I probably wouldn't have been able to keep myself calm enough not to kill him.

I checked my phone, the time blaring as 8:47pm. I had agreed to meet at 9, we were using Minho's apartment to chat this time- Seungmin and Ji conveniently out on a date. Jeongin was hanging with Felix and Hyunjin, organizing the closet...again. My fiancé had gone on a shopping spree while I worked, claiming retail therapy had been in order. I had learned not to question his methods.

I rubbed my eyes, stretching and putting my things away before exiting the home studio, shuffling toward the door adjoining our apartments.

The door the Minho's was unlocked, and I could hear chatter as I entered, Changbin, Minho and Hyunjin leaning against the countertop, sipping Soju, Minho's cheeks pink from alcohol consumption. The presence of Hyunjin was a shock, since I was sure he'd planned to be with Jeongin sifting through clothes and organizing.

"Chan!" Changbin bellowed, rushing me, acting like he was going to tackle me. His arms wrapped around my thighs, and he lifted me upward easily, his chin digging into my abs as he smiled up at me. "Do a shot with me?" he asked and I looked at him quizzically trying to figure out what had him in such a good mood.

"Why are we doing shots?" I asked as he hauled me toward Minho, putting me down and handing me a soju as well. He knew I didn't drink much, and then only at home with Jeongin.

"Bin is celebrating." Minho offered.

I was still lost. "And what are we celebrating?" I asked, sniffing the bottle of booze he'd handed me, the distinct scent of strawberries tickling my nostrils. I took in Hyunjin's pout and the roll of his eyes, thinking perhaps not everyone was in a celebratory mood. But Binnie had even gotten my favorite flavor, so I let Hyunjin's dramatics fall to the wayside as I lifted the bottle to my lips, letting the sharp, sweet liquid flow over my tongue, a rare treat.

"JiLix is official." Bin said proudly, toasting, making me choke on my drink.

"What?!" I sputtered, almost spitting out my drink. I suddenly understood why Hyunjin looked like he'd swallowed razor blades.

"Yep- they're dating now." He clarified.

"And this is a good thing?" I asked, unsure how my very possessive friend was so pleased about it.

"The best." Binnie assured me, Minho smiling happily.

"Tch." Hyunjin commented, rolling his eyes.

"I've maintained for a while that this would be good for them." Minho shrugged. "I mean we all knew it was a matter of time."

I considered, shrugging. "Yeah- can't say I didn't see this one coming." I agreed. "But when did this happen, I just saw Ji last night."

"Well, right after you dropped him home, apparently. Lixxie bunked here because Hyune and I were still sick, and Sung mistook him for Seungmin..."

"Wait... No he did not..."
