The cemetery was quiet and still, the autumn breeze gently rustling the leaves scattered across the graves. Y/N made her way down the narrow stone path, her hands stuffed into the pockets of her coat as she moved slowly, her mind weighed down by thoughts that seemed to spiral endlessly. She hadn't been here since the funeral, and coming back now, she wasn't sure what she was expecting to feel. Closure, maybe, or some final answer. Instead, she felt the old frustration bubbling up—she knew Naomi Misora hadn't taken her own life.

She stopped at Naomi's grave, the fresh flowers that had been left recently a reminder of how loved Naomi was and how her life had been cut short in a way that still didn't make sense to Y/N. Kneeling, she brushed a few stray leaves off the headstone, her fingers lingering on the cold surface stone. They had been friends since their childhood. Naomi was sharp, fierce, and stubborn. She wasn't someone who'd just throw her life away, even if her fiancé died.

"Naomi," Y/N murmured, her voice barely above a whisper, "I know this isn't what happened. You didn't just give up... You never would have."

The official story was suicide, but Y/N had her own theory—one that was almost too horrifying to believe. It all led back to Kira, She knew Kira could kill with a heart attack, but Naomi's case was different. Kira's power went beyond that. Maybe he could influence actions, making his victims appear to die by their own hand. Y/N's suspicions had only grown since that day, and standing here now, the weight of it all pressed down on her.

Y/N traced the engraving on Naomi's grave with her finger, her heart heavy. "Kira..." she whispered, anger and determination blending in her voice. She clenched her jaw, determined to find out the truth behind her friend's death. Naomi deserved justice, and Y/N was going to make sure she got it, no matter what it took.

She knew she had to keep a level head, but her mind raced with questions. If Kira really had the power to make people kill themselves, how far did that power go? How could she ever hope to prove it? Even L had his doubts, and he was the most thorough investigator she knew. But Naomi's death gnawed at her. Kira wasn't just killing criminals or people whose names were in the news; he had targeted Naomi, someone who was quietly investigating, someone who wasn't even publicly linked to the Kira case. That meant he was watching, that he could get close. The realization sent a shiver down her spine.

Pulling herself together, Y/N took a deep breath. Naomi had always been the grounded one, the person who reminded Y/N to focus on the facts and not get lost in emotions. But how could she remain logical when Kira's power seemed so unnatural, so beyond reason?

She thought back to the day Naomi had vanished, the desperation in her friend's voice during their last conversation. Naomi had been onto something big, something she couldn't fully explain over the phone. And then, silence. It was as if Kira had known she was getting too close. Y/N stared at the grave, letting her mind wander.

"If only you'd told me more," Y/N whispered, her voice cracking. "If only you'd given me more to work with, maybe I could have..." Her voice trailed off, and she swallowed the guilt that always rose up at the thought. But she knew there was no going back. All she could do now was press forward.

Standing up, Y/N looked around the quiet cemetery.

Her mind drifted to L, and she frowned, wondering how much she should tell him. She knew he was as committed to finding Kira as she was, but she couldn't shake the feeling that he was holding back, that there were things he wasn't telling her. Maybe he doubted her, or maybe he thought her theories were too far-fetched.

Y/N clenched her fists, determination hardening in her chest. "I'll prove that Kira is behind this, no matter how long it takes." She paused, her voice softening. "I just wish you were here. You'd know what to do."

The wind picked up slightly, and for a brief moment, she could almost feel Naomi's presence beside her. Taking a steadying breath, Y/N glanced at her watch, realizing she had been here longer than she'd intended. She needed to get back to her investigation, but something inside her told her that this visit was important—that maybe, in some small way, it would help her find the clarity she needed to push forward.
