Late into the night, Y/N found herself alone in the headquarters with L. It was one of those nights that seemed to drag on, and they were together, again. L sat at his usual spot, slouched and hunched over his laptop, his fingers tapping rapidly on the keys, his eyes transfixed on the screen.

Y/N pulled up a chair beside him, her eyes narrowing as she considered her next words.

Finally, she broke the silence. "I don't think Kira can only kill with heart attacks."

L didn't look away from the screen, but his fingers paused, just for a moment. "Go on."

"I know this might sound crazy, but hear me out," she continued, trying to sound as logical as possible. "If Kira's power lets him kill anyone whose name he knows and face he sees, then why would it be limited to just heart attacks? There's no real reason it couldn't be something else. Heart attacks are convenient, but... they're not the only way someone can die unexpectedly."

L turned his gaze toward her, eyes dark and unfathomable. "And why do you believe that?"

"Because of Naomi," Y/N said, swallowing. "She wasn't the type to just... give up. The idea that she would take her own life doesn't sit right with me. There's no evidence to suggest she was struggling or that she'd do something like that. I knew her too well. She was a fighter, and it doesn't make sense."

He watched her for a moment, his expression unreadable. "And you think Kira was responsible?"

"Yes," Y/N said firmly. "But it's more than that. I think Kira is capable of killing in other ways, ways that might look like accidents, or even... suicides. Think about it. If he has the power to take a life just by knowing someone's name and face, why would that power be limited to heart attacks? It doesn't add up."

L's fingers were steepled under his chin now, his eyes studying her intently. "Interesting theory. But we'd need evidence to support it. I can't just go to the task force and tell them that Kira can kill in any way he pleases without proof."

Y/N leaned forward, her voice a little louder, a little more insistent. "I get that. But think about it from Kira's perspective. If he's smart—and we both know he is—then he'd understand that using heart attacks as his only method of killing would eventually draw attention. People are going to catch on. If he wanted to be more discreet, he'd have to switch things up. And I think he already has."

L's gaze was intense, analyzing every word she said. "So, you believe Kira is playing a more complex game than we initially thought."

"Exactly," she replied. "Heart attacks were just the start. But if we look into people who died under strange circumstances, people who Kira might've wanted dead. Naomi possibly knew something and Kira had to get rid of her. Maybe we'd find something... unusual."

He nodded slowly, seeming to mull over her theory. "It's possible," he said finally, though his tone was cautious. "But if what you're saying is true, then Kira would have to be even more meticulous in covering his tracks. That means he's more dangerous than we've accounted for."

Y/N looked away for a moment, her mind racing. She hadn't expected him to take her seriously, not completely. But now, hearing L consider her theory, it gave her some sense of validation. "All I'm saying is, we shouldn't limit our investigation just because we think we know how Kira operates."

L sighed, his gaze drifting back to the screen. "It's a plausible theory. But we can't afford to let speculation dictate our actions."

She rolled her eyes. "It's not speculation if it makes sense, L. Look, we've both seen enough strange things on this case. Heart attacks are just a small piece of a much bigger puzzle. And if we keep looking at it that way, we're going to miss something important."

He glanced at her with a flicker of amusement. "You're very sure of yourself."

"I am," Y/N replied, crossing her arms. "Because I'm right."

There was a brief silence as L considered her words. "I'll... keep it in mind," he said at last, though his voice held a hint of reluctance. "But don't expect me to draw any conclusions without evidence."

Y/N smirked. "I'd expect nothing less from you." She leaned back in her chair, watching him carefully. She could tell her theory had rattled him, even if only slightly. He wasn't one to take things at face value, but she knew he'd be thinking about it long after she left.

"Good," he said quietly, and she could have sworn there was a trace of admiration in his voice.

Y/N leaned back in her chair, her arms crossed as she watched L's intense gaze flicker back to his computer screen.

"See?" she said with a smirk. "I knew I'd get you thinking."

L's eyes didn't leave the screen, but she noticed the tiniest twitch of a smile at the corner of his mouth. "Don't flatter yourself. It's just a theory."

She leaned in a little closer, catching his eye. "Oh, come on, Ryuzaki. You don't think I'm onto something?"

He gave her a sideways glance, feigning disinterest. "You're a bit too confident."

She smiled, "What, you can't handle a bit of charm and intelligence at the same time?"

L raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "Is that what you call this?"

She shrugged, giving him a playful grin. "I can call it whatever you want. Just admit you're impressed."

He leaned back, eyes narrowing as he studied her. "I'll admit I'm... intrigued. That's all you're getting."

"Fine," she said with a smirk, leaning back and crossing her arms. "I'll take intrigued."
