The task force meeting was tense, as it often was these days. L sat perched in his usual position, his fingers steepled in front of his lips. The team was discussing the latest string of deaths attributed to Kira, each as inexplicable as the last.

Y/N sat beside L, her sharp eyes scanning the room, paying special attention to Light. Her heart raced, anticipation buzzing in her veins. Today was the day. She could feel it.

"We've been reviewing potential suspects, including Hiroshi Nakamura," L began, his tone calm but deliberate. "While Nakamura was under observation, three new deaths occurred today. This suggests that Kira may have shifted targets, or..." He trailed off, his gaze landing heavily on Light.

Light froze for a split second, his mind racing. But instead of maintaining his composure, he muttered under his breath, loud enough for everyone to hear, "Impossible. He's dead."

The room fell silent.

Y/N turned her head sharply to look at L, who was already staring at her. A silent understanding passed between them. She thought to herself, I've got you now, Yagami.

L's voice broke the silence. It was soft, but his words carried a weight that made the air in the room feel heavy. "How would you know he's dead, Light? Nakamura never existed."

The color drained from Light's face. His heart thumped painfully in his chest, his thoughts spiraling. How could this be? Was it all a trap?

Quickly, he attempted to recover, shaking his head and forcing a laugh. "Don't be ridiculous. I just meant... If he were a real criminal, Kira would have targeted him by now. That's all I meant."

But L wasn't buying it. "You seemed quite certain of his death," he pressed. "It's not a logical conclusion unless you have information the rest of us do not."

Light's composure cracked further. Frustration and panic boiled over, and he lashed out. "Don't you see what's happening here?" He pointed at Y/N, his voice rising. "She's manipulating you, L! She's always been suspicious, and now she's pulling the strings, leading you away from the real Kira!"

Y/N's eyes narrowed, but before she could respond, Light delivered his killing blow. "Just because you're secretly fucking her doesn't mean she's not Kira!"

The room collectively gasped. Matsuda looked like he was about to faint.

Y/N shot out of her chair, her voice trembling with anger. "You're pathetic, Yagami. Throwing out baseless accusations because you're cornered. You know what? Fine. If we're talking about manipulation. Let's talk about you."

She took a step closer to him, her finger jabbing the air. "You're Kira. You've been Kira this whole time, and the proof is in your slip-ups, your reactions, and the way you've wormed your way into this investigation to throw us off, just because your dad is a detective!"

I can play his cards- she thought to herself.

Ryuk, who had been floating unseen in the corner, burst out laughing. His chilling cackle echoed through the room, freezing everyone in place.

"Light," Ryuk said, his voice low and amused. "You're caught."

Light ignored him, his focus locked on Y/N. But then Y/N turned to the rest of the task force, her voice cutting through the tension. "Stop ignoring him." She pointed in Ryuk's direction, her tone fierce. "Ryuk is right there, laughing at you."

The room fell silent again. And then, for the first time, Ryuk spoke one ominous word: "Death Note."

The word hit Light like a bullet. His eyes widened in horror, and his body moved before his mind could catch up. He bolted for the door.

"Light, stop!" Y/N shouted, pulling out her gun. The task force sprang into action, weapons drawn. Shots rang out, but Light was fast, zigzagging through the chaos.

Ryuk watched the pandemonium unfold, his grin fading. "This isn't supposed to end like this," he muttered. Slowly, he pulled out his own Death Note, his skeletal hand gripping a pen. With deliberate slowness, he began to write Light's name.

Meanwhile, Y/N pursued Light, her adrenaline spiking. She cornered him in a narrow hallway, her gun pointed at him. "It's over, Yagami. You're done."

Light's face twisted into something feral. "You think you've won?" he snarled, lunging at her. The gunshot rang out, but it grazed his arm. He tackled her, the two of them crashing to the ground in a vicious struggle.

Y/N fought with everything she had, but Light was desperate and ruthless. He managed to grab a sharp piece of glass from the broken hallway mirror and stabbed her in the side.

She cried out in pain, but she didn't let go of her gun. With trembling hands, she raised it again, her vision blurring. And she shot him twice. This wasnt enough to kill him, she didn't aim it like that.

At that moment, Light froze, his body convulsing. He dropped the glass, his hands clutching at his chest. He turned his head and saw Ryuk standing at the end of the hallway, holding his Death Note.

"Ryuk," Light rasped, his voice a mix of betrayal and disbelief.

Ryuk's grin returned, cold and indifferent.

Light's legs buckled, and he crumpled to the floor, his breaths growing shallow. Y/N, clutching her bleeding side, watched as the life drained from his eyes.

For a moment, the hallway was eerily silent, save for the distant chaos of the task force closing in.

Light's final words were barely audible. "Damn it... I don't... want to die..."

And then he was gone.

As the task force reached the hallway, they found Y/N slumped against the wall, clutching her wound, and Light's lifeless body sprawled on the ground. L knelt beside Y/N, his face uncharacteristically concerned.

"You're hurt," he said softly, inspecting her wound.

"It's just a scratch," she replied weakly, though her trembling hands betrayed her. "We... we got him."

L's dark eyes lingered on her for a moment before he nodded. "Yes. It's over."

Ryuk, now invisible to everyone else but Y/N, hovered above them, watching with mild amusement. "I never really liked Light."

Y/N laughed, "Thank you Ryuk."

He looked at her once more and nodded, before leaving. This would be the last time Y/N sees Ryuk.

Everyone was confused.

Who was she talking to, or maybe she was bleeding out too much.

L helped her get up and put her arm around him. They got into the car and his driver took them to the hospital. The last thing she remembers before blacking out- was L's hand pin pointing pressure to her wound, and telling her it's gonna be okay.

A/N~ RIP Light Yagami XD
