It was day eight of avoiding the boys and it was getting difficult. It was not easy when they were everywhere. One who sleeps in the room next to me and I have to see at meals and the other who I can see through my window every day. Both who are in a ton of my classes and are always in the halls at school. My parents have noticed. I mean who wouldn't when you have two teenagers who are best friends living in the same house and not uttering a word to each other. And I am sure my mum has heard something similar from Mrs Daniels (Ethan's mum.). It was a weird situation because they both wanted to talk to me but I didn't want to speak to either of them.
At school I spent most of my time with Laura, Erica and Katie. But even that was getting tiring after a while. There is only so much girly talk or Noah talk (From Laura) that I could take.
Regionals was tomorrow though so I tried my best to keep everything out of my mind so that I could stay focused. I got permission to skip afternoon classes today so that I could go for some extra rehearsal time.
After going over my piece for tomorrow a thousand times until my body was covered in sweat and was exhausted I reluctantly get ready to go home. Hopefully Zack would be out at some party. I shower and change before driving home. It was late at night now and the rain started to pour. Great. I think to myself sarcastically.
I climb out if the car and run into the house instantly getting soaked. My parents were away again to see my grandpa who still wasn't very well so unfortunately they were going to miss regionals tomorrow. So I am surprised when I notice that the lights are on.
"Where have you been?" Zack asks me appearing from the living room. Was he waiting for me or something?
                              "Out." I answer vaguely.
"You weren't at school for most of the day and you didn't come home. I have been worried!" he yell.
"Well I was fine!" I yell back storming upstairs.
"But it's not just now. You always disappear. You are gone for hours at the time. We have all noticed. You have been doing it for years! Even when we were little. But you never tell us where you go. But I have had enough. We are meant to be best friends who tell each other everything but you are always keeping secrets. You were gone all day and you come home soaked and carrying that." He says looking down at my dance bag. "What is even in there? I just don't understand why you won't tell us. Tell me. Don't you trust me?" he says looking extremely hurt. I could tell this was bothering him a lot.
"I don't know." I finally respond softly. "I just got used to keeping it a secret for so long that it was kind of hard to explain or stop lying." I sigh.
"Well you can try to explain now. I'm not going anywhere." Zack says more calmly.
"It is stupid really. You will probably laugh. It's not even that big of a deal." I say nervously.
                              "You can tell me anything."
"Okay fine. But let me change first. I am freezing." I say shivering in my soaked clothes.
"Of course." He nods before going into the living room.
I change into some sweats and a T-shirt before making my way back downstairs with a box and a bag that were hidden in my room.
"What is this?" he looks at me confused.
"I will explain in a second. But first watch this." I put in a dvd of nationals. It was only the highlights showing the results and so on.
I skip it to the end of the dvd and press play. Whilst Zack sits on the couch staring at the screen intensely.
"So now we have shown you the best dancers in the country under the age of eighteen. But who is our Female National Champion? Watch this to find out." The commentator person says whilst quickly showing all the other dancers who placed.
