The last couple of months went by quickly and the building is halfway done already. In the meantime I have been busy trying to hire staff and get classes organised. I have been advertising in local schools and on the internet before summer starts to get kids interested in wanting to sign up for classes or for the older ones to hire studio time.
When I wasn't working I was spending time with Evie and with Jackson who have now met and get along great.
Evie has been growing up very quickly. At fifteen months she is walking around and trying to climb on everything so Zack has to help me baby proof the house. She also started talking a little bit. Saying mostly mama and no.
Yes, Zack is still living with me. You would think after what happened he would have made more of an effort to move out. But no. Every time I try bringing it up he shuts me down or changes the subject.
He has been busy too though. He has been working at the bar and wedding planning. He is getting married around September which happens to be right after my studio is meant to be finished. Luckily I haven't had to have seen Natalie much though, who has been living in a hotel.
On other news, Nicole is now pregnant too! So I have basically swapped places with my friends. When they were worrying about their careers I was worrying about diapers and baby clothes. And now I am working on my career, they are both pregnant.
Tonight I was really excited because the guys were all meeting at my house leaving the pregnant wives at home to sleep. Don't get me wrong. I love the girls. But I miss just hanging out with the guys like old times. I don't think we have done that since before Ethan died. The girls understand that we just want a night to hang out with the old group without them. In fact Nicole even offered to take Evie for the night so I could be off mum duty and enjoy myself.
"Finally! The group is back together!" Sam sits down on the bar stool in the kitchen.
"We were always together doofus." I remind him.
"But not without wives or kids. Not that we don't love them and all. Jeez I feel old. When did we become grown ups?" Sam suddenly looks at us confused and we all laugh at him.
"Well I think I became a grown up when I had to put on a tie and go to work." Noah answers.
"I felt like a grown up when we bought the bar." Zack says.
"I think I realised it when I had Evie." I answer.
"I don't think I have grown up yet." Sam says.
"Well you better hurry up, man. Only two months to go." Noah reminds him.
"There goes my sleep. I can function without it, right?" He says before dipping his beer.
"Hey at least you don't have to give birth!" I remind him.
"You know when I pictured our futures I didn't see it like this." Noah says.
"What do you mean?" I ask confused.
"Well I definitely didn't think Sam would be the first to get married. I thought he would be the one to travel to places and party around the world." We laugh.
"As we are all together, I would like to make an announcement." Sam suddenly stands and Laura looks at him confused. "Laura." He begins. "When we met you were more interested in my cousin than me but I was still in love with you more than you know. And when you told me you loved me, you made me the happiest man alive. I love you, Laura and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He gets down on one knee, pulling out a small black box. "Will you marry me?"
