Age 20

I can't believe it. We are in freaking Hawaii. That is right. Hawaii. With palm trees, white soft sand, beautiful crystal cleat turquoise water and the hot sun. Could it get any more perfect? Oh yeah. The wedding. The reason we are here. It is our last spring break before Noah and Zack graduate from college and we all wanted to go somewhere special. And then Laura came up with the brilliant idea to combine our holiday with her wedding and create a destination wedding right on the beach. It wasn't going to be a very big wedding anyway. Just Laura's parents, Sam's parents and his uncle and Linda. Then there was obviously Zack, Ethan, Nicole, Noah (The best man) and me (The maid of honour).

"This is amazing!" I exclaim as we walk out to the pool area of the resort.

We arrived late last night and we were all too tired and busy unpacking so this is the first time we have gone outside since we arrived. Or at least the first time Zack, Ethan, Noah, Nicole and I have been outside. The parent's don't arrive until tomorrow and Laura has been up super early dragging Sam with her everywhere for last minute wedding planning. In case you hadn't noticed by now, Laura can be a little bit controlling. Okay, mega controlling.

"This is pretty awesome." Zack agrees.

We all go and sit down at a table near the pool. "So what is your plan for the day?" I ask the boys.

"Well me and Zack were going to go and check out the jet skis." Ethan informs me.

"Yeah and Nicole and I were going to go to the beach." Noah tells me.

"What about you?" Nicole asks me.

"I am going to spend the say relaxing by the pool." I decide. I sigh just thinking about it. Nothing but the sun, a cocktail and a sparkly pool for the day. I can't wait.

"Oh no you aren't." Laura tells me appearing out of nowhere.

"What? Why not?" I pout like a two year old.

"Because you are my maid of honour silly. I need your help. The wedding is in two days! We have a lot of preparing to do! Let's go. We have a long day ahead of us." She announces.

I groan. There goes my relaxing day.

It was finally time for two of my best friends to get married. Laura looked beautiful in her loose white wedding dress which has a very low back and is made out of the thin material which helps to withstand the heat from the hot Hawaiian weather. Because the wedding is so small I am the only bridesmaid so I can basically wear anything I want to as long as it is not white. God forbid I where white. Or Laura forbids in this case. So my dress is long and pale pink. The dress is strapless with a sweetheart neckline. It is simple but elegant. The wedding is set up on the beach with a white painted wooden alter which is wrapped up in loose white ribbon and materials as well as white flowers. Along the aisle are the flowers and candles where chairs for the guests are next to. The guests will be facing the ocean as the sun sets. It was beautiful. And perfect.

Everyone is sat down and ready to go. Sam is looking relaxed as he stands next to Noah by the alter and next to the officiator.

"You ready?" I ask the bride.

"Yes. I can't wait." Laura grins.

"It's time." Laura's dad tells us and we get ready as the music plays to walk down the aisle.

I go first by myself and stand next to the alter as we all watch Laura slowly makes her way towards us with her arm linked with her dad's. When they reach the end they part and he sits down leaving her to stand next to Sam who is grinning like he won the lottery. Or all the money in the world.
