Feeling the comforting warmth of the mug of hot tea against my cold icy hands, sighing before taking a big gulp of the tea.  The messy pile of papers stared at me in the face until I couldn't bare it any longer, moving them to the side and stared at the old twisted plant that sat on the desk.

The menagerie has become mine and Abby's hide away. We spent most of our time here whether it to be with the creatures or other science work. Utter tiredness embraced me as Theo seems to be going through regression and he has both Becker and I tired, as I watch the steam rise from my mug of tea but looked up once I heard the lad door open.

"Con" I smiled as he walked in.

"Brought you a present" he said, placing a box of test-tubes on the desk, all different colours. Then I remembered that I had asked him to check over these as they were cretaceous plant life "brilliant" he smiled as he complimented me.

"Thank you" I smiled, taking another sip of tea.

"Not sleeping?" Connor asked curiously, guessing he noticed the heaviness of my eyes.

"That obvious?" I asked as he nodded "Theo's going through some regression, his bottom teeth are coming in, we are using teething rings and medicine our paediatrician give us but at the moment he just wants us".

"Aw" Connor smiled sadly "it be over soon, only another six months then he'll be talking not stop unless he has Becker's personality then he won't be talking at all" Connor laughed but stopped once he saw the annoyed look on my face "sorry" he apologised.

Connor was taking me to see his lab, obviously wanting to show off and he reminded me of a child who was desperate to show of his new toys and in away he reminded me of Nick, Nick was a lot more mature than Connor but they both have ingenious ideas that in truth nobody else would have thought up.

"So this is where it all happens " Connor beamed, walking into his lab with me and his heels, the room was a little bigger than the menagerie lab and instead of different plants and chemicals there was a vast amount of electric appliances, wires and computers.

"This is my desk" he said gesturing towards the table in the middle which was coated in piles of paper and other things scattered around just like mine, even though I like mine stuff neat I don't have the energy to clean up "well, it's a little bit"

"Messy" I finished "just like mine" looking around the table I noticed a small handheld "what's thins?"

"Huh?"

What' this?" I repeated, holding it up as he hurried over "this is a dating calculator" he told me proudly.

Raising an eyebrow at him suspiciously "oh god, no, no" Connor stuttered "not like that, it tells you where the anomalies lead to and I mean to what exact year, you've just got to point it and press".
