Chapter 24

"What's going on here?"

Arpita raised an eyebrow as she looked at Yash for answers.

"We need to talk"

Yash said calmly as he let go of Aarti's hand and approached Arpita.

"So the rumors circulating the internet is true?"

Her voice broke as she held Yash hand.

"I didn't want you to find out this way"

Yash said as he slowly removed his hand from hers. Aarti sat quietly, as she stared at the floor. She felt somewhat responsible for this situation.

"What the hell Yash. We're getting married in a few months. How could you do this to me?"

She held on to his collar, demanding answers.

"You ruined our relationship for this bitch?"

She looked at Aarti, staring daggers at her.

"Watch your mouth"

Yash shouted.

"Of course you would defend her"

Arpita scoffed, looking at Yash with disappointment but he did not care.

"All she had to do was spread her legs and you're all smitten again, aren't you?"

She continued and Yash curled his fist, trying to control his anger.

A tear rolled down Aarti's cheek as those words came out of Arpita's mouth.

"I told you to watch your fucking mouth"

He roared, scaring them both.

"I can't, not while this bitch is in my bed, with my fiancé"

Arpita looked at Aarti with disgust.

"You have to choose right now. Either me or her"

She turned back to face Yash.

"What is it going to be, Yash?"

Arpita caressed his cheeks, trying to remind him of their times together.

"Her"

Yash said as he removed her hand from his face. Aarti eyes widen as she slowly trembled.

She wondered why Yash is trying to ruin his relationship when he should be saving it.

"Excuse me?

Arpita was left speechless.

"You heard me. I choose her"

He repeated himself.

"What are you doing, Yash? Just tell her the truth"

Aarti finally said as she looked at him.

"Tell her that nothing happened between us. That you were just trying to save my reputation"

Aarti pleaded with him while Arpita looked on.

"I can't do that. I can't lie to her"

Yash walked towards Aarti and held her hand. Arpita could not believe her eyes or ears.

"The truth is, every moment spent with Aarti made me realized that I never stopped loving her"

He turned to face Arpita. Aarti almost collapsed by that confession.

"Yash doesn't love me, so why did he lie to Arpita? Why didn't he tell her the truth and fix their relationship?"

Aarti was left lost in her own thoughts.
