The next morning Yash woke up to a dozen of miss calls from his mom. As he was about to put the phone away, it started to ring once more. He sighed as he picked up.

"Yash? please don't hang up"

His mom voice was on the other end.

"What is it? Why did you call so many times?"

He was frustrated.

"What happened with Arpita?"

She asked and Yash felt a pit in his stomach.

"She said that you broke off the engagement"

She continued.

"Just once it would be nice to worry about your own son"

He finally said.

"I get it that you're worried about Arpita, but what about me? what about my feelings?"

He yelled, startling Gaitre.

"it's not like that son. it's just"

Yash cut her off.

"I've done everything you wanted, even if it made me unhappy. You knew that I was not in love with Arpita, yet you pushed me towards her. You knew that the only person I ever loved was Aarti"

He confessed, while Gaitre remained shocked.

"What are you saying?"

Her voice trembled.

"I don't want to be with Arpita. I want to marry Aarti"

He said firmly.

"And if you have a problem with that, then I maybe you shouldn't be in my life"

He continued, shocking Gaitre with his words.

"I was wrong Yash. I would like to meet Aarti; I have a lot to apologize for"

She managed to say.

"Do you mean that? Your accusation really hurt her"

He was skeptical. The past few days his mom behavior has made him question everything.

"I was wrong about Aarti. If you love her then I'll learn to do the same"

She said but deep down she knew that she would never accept Aarti as her daughter in law. If she tells Yash how she really feels, he would hate her forever.

"I hope for my sake you're saying the truth"

Yash was still hesitant with his mom.

"I swear I'm telling the truth, Yash. I just want to make it right"

She said.

"Then start by leaving Arpita in the past. Give Aarti the respect that she deserves and let me be happy for once"

He said before hanging up. Gaitre fumed in anger, Aarti was once again winning but she wasn't going to let that happen.

"I will win back your trust Yash and then I'll make sure Aarti stays out of our lives forever, even if I have to defame her character once again"

Gaitre was hell bent on destroying Aarti's life.

"I will pretend that I've accepted Aarti and in the process I'll end your relationship with her. You'll never see it coming, Yash"

Gaitre screamed in defeat.

Aarti woke up in Yash bed. She smiled to herself as she remembered both of them confessing their love for each other and being intimate.
