Jordan woke up very early the next morning. The sun was only barely starting to reach the horizon when he looked out the window. He knew that he wouldn't be able to fall back asleep. He put on his old beige shirt and pants, headed out of his room, and started making himself breakfast. It was peaceful, and the birds were chirping happily.

He was in the middle of peeling a banana when he heard quick footsteps behind him. His new heightened instincts reacted for him and he moved out of the way just in time to see a figure in red destroy the kitchen table that had just been in front of him. The Yiga blademaster pulled his katana out of the wooden rubble and turned to Jordan. The man was massive, and muscular. His katana glowed silver with power, and his intimidating white and red mask covered his face. The blademaster was covered head to toe in dark red garb and armor, and it made it hard to remember that he was a hylian, and not a dangerous creature.

"You managed to avoid my attack. Impressive." The blademaster's low voice rumbled, "But it doesn't matter. Our men are here, and there is nothing you can do to stop us. Behold!" Six Yiga soldiers appeared instantly all around the room, their white masks staring blankly at him, their weapons raised.

"What do you want?!" Jordan shouted at the blademaster desperately.

"We came here to destroy the root of our late shortcomings; you and your people. We have been keeping tabs. And now is the time to strike!"

He pointed his katana at Jordan and the Yiga soldiers attacked. Jordan screamed and a dark shockwave of energy blasted outwards in all directions, forcing the Yiga back and giving him an opening to work. He needed to alert the others before anyone else could get hurt. He concentrated and created a copy of himself to wake the others while he dealt with their attackers. Jordan heard a woman's scream from the first house and his pulse quickened. The Yiga must have infiltrated that place too! He had to get over there as soon as possible, but all he could do was hope that his copy would be enough to protect the place.

Jordan summoned his darksabers and attacked the Yiga blademaster, who blocked his downward slash with his katana and the battle began. The Yiga were prepared for battle, and Jordan knew that he needed his best if he was going to defeat them. Their swords went back and forth, slicing and clashing through the air, and he was suddenly quite thankful that he and William had spent so much time training against each other. Jordan was quick to match the blademaster's pace, but this was nothing like the fencing he had gotten used to on earth.

The Yiga footsoldiers circled them as they fought, slowly closing in on him. Though they weren't as muscular or powerful as the blademaster, their movements were lithe and quick. Every so often one would step forward with their scythe to attack and Jordan would be forced to give ground in order to parry the strike away. The longer they fought, the more in-tune he felt with the dark magic, as if they were working together as one. Jordan knew he couldn't keep this up for long, and the longer he fought, the more time the Yiga had to hurt anyone else. His heart was racing as their blades clashed between them.

Lucky for him, it didn't take long for reinforcements to arrive. It took longer than he had hoped, but Ronny, Oscar, and Matt all appeared from their rooms with their weapons in hand, ready to fight, though still a bit bleary-eyed. They leapt into combat against the Yiga footsoldiers, which allowed Jordan to focus all of his attention back on the blademaster. Jordan was in the zone now. His mind and body were as sharp as ever, missed nothing, and made no mistakes. The darkness fueled him forward with the adrenaline, and he kept up his onslaught of slashes, twirls, and stabs against the blademaster.

Jordan was trying his best to get angry to boost his powers, but it wasn't working very well. All he could think was that his friends were in danger. The thought was almost sapping his strength. But he pressed on, knowing that he could show no fear in the face of such an opponent.
