Chapter 20

"I'll grab Mesprit and Uxie," said Latias, "hurry and go with Azelf, I'll be there in a second!"

I wanted to help her, but I knew there was no time to argue; I could feel a surge of energy coming from behind me as multi-colored sparks shot in every direction.

I quickly flew over to Ash, Azelf trailing behind me. "What's happening?" I asked.

"Freeing Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie wasn't enough," replied Latios, "too much energy had already been transferred to the plates,"

"Right," said Ash, "um, where's Latias?"

"Right here!" said Latias, flying up to us. "Sorry about the wait, I had to grab Mesprit and Uxie,"

"No worries," said Ash, "Azelf, are you strong enough to help?"

"Yep!" said Azelf, "All this willpower feels great!"

"Alright," said Ash, "Michael, I need you and Azelf to suppress the energy from the plates. Latias, I need you to revive Mesprit and Uxie. Latios, I need you to help me and Pikachu defeat Team Galactic,"

"Y-you're too late,"

I turned to see Cryus slowly getting up from the ground.

"The two worlds have already been combined and a new world will rise!"

"What are you talking about?" asked Ash.

"Maybe that..." said Latios.

We looked to where Latios was pointing. Instead of shooting out random sparks of energy, each plate was shooting a beam of energy to the center of the triangle. In the center of the triangle, the two orbs were glowing. Above them, the beams of energy had formed into a ball of energy that expanded as more and more energy was put into it.

"What's happening?" asked Pikachu, running over to us.

"I don't know buddy," said Ash, "but we need to stop this now. Pikachu, use Thunderbolt, Latios and Michael, Luster Purge, Latias, Mist Ball!"

"I can help too," said Azelf, "Psychic!"

I charged up a Luster Purge, firing it at the same time as the others. The attacks combined mid-air and rushed at the sphere of energy. Instead of destroying the vortex of energy, however, our attacks were simply sucked into the sphere.

"Fools," said Cyrus, "mere attacks won't stop my universe from being created! Now, Dialga, Palkia, rise!"

Cyrus held out his hand and something on his glove flashed red. I watched as two portals opened up above the growing sphere of energy. At another flash of Cyrus' glove, the portals started to grow, forming a ghostly outline of two Pokemon. The first was mostly pink and white and had two pink gems on its shoulders. It also had two claw-like arms and two legs. The other Pokemon was blue and silver and looked like it was made of metal. It had four thick legs with thin pieces of metal sticking out of them and a blue gem on its chest.

"Dialga, Palika! Use your powers and create a new universe where I alone can rule!" said Cyrus.

Dialga and Palkia's outlines grew clearer and clearer until they suddenly gave off a flash of light and the real Dialga and Palkia appeared. For a moment, they struggled against Cyrus' control but soon gave in as their eyes glowed red. They both roared as each of them shot an attack at the sphere of energy, causing it to expand into a portal that grew bigger and bigger by the second.

As we watched, Mesprit and Uxie had gotten up and were talking with Azelf. After a short discussion, they turned to us.

"Okay, listen to us for a moment," said Mesprit.

We all turned to the trio.

"Do you know how to stop this?" asked Ash.

"We do," said Uxie, "Cyrus is controlling Dialga and Palkia with the red chain that he used to control us."

"But how is he controlling them without a red gem?" asked Latias.

"That's the tricky part," said Azelf, "those gems are far too weak to control Dialga and Palkia. So instead, Cyrus is using Arceus' plates to exert a much more powerful control over them."

Mepsprit nodded. "We have to de-activate those plates. After that, calming down Dialga and Palkia should be easy."

Before Uxie could finish, Pikachu interrupted them. "Watch out!"

My eyes grew wide as a stray attack from Dialga flew towards us. I tried to dodge but I was too slow, so I braced myself for the attack, hoping I could use Protect in time.

I prepared for the worst when my protect didn't come and the attack hit me directly in the chest. Instead of feeling pain though, a tingling sensation spread throughout my body.

"Michael? Are you sightsharing?" asked Ash.

I opened my eyes. Sure enough, instead of Spear Pillar, we appeared to be in some sort of laboratory.

"This can't be sight-sharing," said Latios, "sight-sharing only allows us to project what we are seeing at the moment,"

"Is this a memory then?" asked Latias.

I shook my head. "I'm not doing this, I don't remember this place at all,"

"Hold on," said Pikachu, "they're saying something,"

I was about to ask who 'they' were when I heard two voices coming from the other side of the room. I turned to see two men, both dressed in white lab coats. They were talking to each other and didn't seem to notice us.

"Are you sure John?" one of them asked.

"I've already told you; it's too dangerous," replied John, "who knows what will happen if someone used it?"

"But all that research-"

"No Frank, I'm sorry,"

Suddenly the scene changed. Instead of a laboratory, the two men from before were in a forest. They both had panicked expressions on their faces as if they had seen a ghost.

"You're sure that's where it went?" asked John.

"Postive, that Pidgey snatched it right out of my hands!"

"Keep looking then, if that feather falls into the wrong hands things could get really bad,"

"What if it- you know, went through the portal?" said Frank nervously.

"Let's hope it didn't; if someone finds it we could have a monster on our hands,"

"What if it affects the Pidgey first?"

John shook his head. "The feather only works on humans,"

"But if it went to the human world-"

"Then Pokemon could be introduced to the human world, yes,"

"How much harm do you think a Latios could do?"

"Depends on who finds the feather, it could be none at all, or the world as we know it could come to an end,"

Frank gulped. "How can you be so calm about it then? We need to find that feather now!"

"It's too late," John sighed. "the computer says the feather has already crossed between the worlds, all we can do is wait,"

As John finished speaking, the vision faded and we found ourselves back at Spear Pillar.
