I sit by the shore as the dim light kisses my feet,
each touch a reminder of a bittersweet retreat.
Your laughter lingers in the wind’s gentle sigh,
as healing feels like saying one last goodbye.
This fear in my heart as wounds start to mend,
for healing might mean that memories will end.
It's like the corner of a street on my way home,
one I might forget when I wander alone.
I’m scared to let go, to drift far from you,
as this ache in my chest keeps you close — this is true.
Like rain’s sweet scent I can't dismiss,
it’s the part of your absence that’s still truly a bliss.
An aftermath of your love when it is gone,
is my note of how our story had undergone.
So, losing my grip on what’s behind the wall,
is like learning to dance even after the fall.
What a passion for us, a passion to bear,
I’m still holding onto moments time can’t wear.
For though to heal is shining like a sunrise’s hue,
I’m afraid of a tomorrow with no trace of you.
