Rohit lay down on his right side, facing his back towards Virat, who was working on his laptop with the night lamp on.

"Ro, there is enough space— you will literally fall off the bed if you move further into that corner."

Rohit moved a bit, feeling embarrassed. Virat chuckled at his nervousness and covered Rohit properly with the comforter.

Rohit snuggled into it and dozed off, feeling exhausted after everything that had happened in the past week.

After an hour, Virat was going through the report Robert had sent him about the clients they had lost and the damages incurred.

He noticed Rohit moving closer in his sleep. Rohit's head was near Virat's stomach as Virat sat in a half-lying position.

He caressed his cheeks softly and then turned his attention back to the laptop, not wanting to disturb Rohit's sleep.

It was 6 a.m. when Rohit woke up, only to see himself sleeping close to Virat, who was still working.

"Didn't he sleep?" Rohit thought, seeing Virat typing away.

"Morning, Rohit. How do you feel?" Virat asked while continuing to type.

Rohit moved a bit and sat up with the support of the bed. "How do you always know that—"

"That you're staring at me?" Virat looked at him, and Rohit flushed at the comment.

"You guys awake?" Aman knocked on the door.

"Yeah, come in," Virat replied.

Rohit got up and stretched. "Don't tell me you didn't sleep, Bhai," Aman asked, seeing Virat still working.

"You worked the whole night?" Rohit asked this time.

"You both calm down. I'm going to take the day off today, so I'll rest in the afternoon. Now you guys go get freshened up—I'll make breakfast," Virat said. Aman headed to his room, and Rohit went to freshen up.

When Rohit came back outside, he decided to ask Virat, "You're not coming to the office today?"

"No," Virat said, keeping his laptop on the side table. He looked at Rohit, who looked visibly upset. "Is it because I didn't say anything yesterday?" he asked in a low voice.

"Rohit, when I said you can take your time, that means as long as you need. So, don't worry about it, and I'm sure you can manage without me for one day," Virat said gently. However, he noticed Rohit still looked a bit sad.

"If it makes you feel better, you can come back after office, and we can have the conversation over dinner, okay?"

As Virat said that, a smile finally appeared on Rohit's face. "Just do one thing for me?" Virat asked.

They continued the conversation in the kitchen. "Take care of Aman for me. He tends to be careless when I'm not around," Virat said, to which Rohit nodded.

"I am not careless!" Aman said, entering the kitchen. He grabbed the hot coffee and burned his tongue before Rohit could stop him, letting out a hiss of pain.

"There you go—live example," Virat said, making sandwiches.

"Bhaiii," Aman whined. Rohit couldn't help but chuckle at Aman's whining.

"Keep the cup down and take your medicine, which is prescribed before breakfast. Rohit, could you get my phone from the room, please?" Virat asked, arranging the sandwiches.

Rohit brought the phone back. "Can I ask what medicine?" he asked in a low voice, unsure if he was intruding.

"You can. It's Aman's call whether to answer it. For you to know about me or my history—you've got to think about what I asked yesterday. For Aman, you guys are friends, as he says, so he'll tell you what he wants to," Virat replied while typing something on his phone.

Rohit sighed at that professional tone again. He knew Virat was habitual to it, but the way he had been with him the previous night—it was so different.

"Aman? Are you sleeping in the room?" Virat asked, as it had been ten minutes and Aman hadn't returned.

"I can't find my medicines, Bhai!" Aman yelled back from the room.

Virat sighed and went to the room. Rohit was surprised at everything he saw. Aman, who appeared so sophisticated, was actually a kid to Virat. And Virat—Rohit just couldn't understand him yet.

"Who hides their medicines under the mattress? You're not five anymore, Aman—this is your old childhood trick," Virat said, coming from the room with an embarrassed Aman following behind.

"Finish your breakfast, both of you, and go to the office," Virat said, having his breakfast while reading something on his phone.

They both finished their breakfast and went to change. Virat had already taken out an outfit for Rohit since he didn't have his own. "When did he do this?" Rohit thought.

"Bhai, yeh tie nahi lag rahi," Aman's yell broke his thoughts. It only made him realize how warm their bond was.

"Give me a minute, Aman," Virat said back.

Rohit came into the living room dressed up, only to see Virat helping Aman with his tie.

"Stop whining in the morning. Go and complete the assigned work—I'll be reviewing the report in the evening. That goes for you too, Rohit, except the whining part, of course," Virat said, to which Aman pouted.

"The driver is downstairs. He will take you guys," Virat said, sitting on the couch.

They both bid him goodbye and left.
