"I think we rushed into this. We should take a break," Virat said, which shocked Rohit.

Tears that he had controlled when Virat entered the room started flowing again. Virat, who had been looking out of the window, looked up to see Rohit burying his face in his palms, trying to stop the tears.

Virat moved towards him and kneeled in front of him. He gently removed his hands from his eyes. "Why are you crying? I haven't said anything," he said softly, wiping away Rohit's tears.

"You just said that we should take a break, that we rushed into this," Rohit said, looking at him with red eyes, sobbing with every word.

"I didn't say anything. You're imagining things, baby," Virat said gently. No matter how hurt he was, seeing Rohit this miserable made him put his own pain aside.

"Really?" Rohit asked innocently, to which Virat nodded, wiping away his tears.

Virat got up and guided him to the bed. He helped Rohit sit beside him, supporting him with the headrest. But instead of sitting quietly, Rohit hugged him, burying his face in Virat's neck-almost sitting on his lap. Virat was momentarily surprised, but he hugged him back.

"Please don't let go," Rohit whispered.

"I would never," Virat replied, patting his head.

"I'm sorry," Rohit said, and Virat's heart broke hearing the guilt in his voice.

"I know. Even I am sorry," Virat replied, kissing his forehead gently. "I will be better. We will be okay-I promise," he added softly.

Rohit just nodded against his chest, too exhausted to say anything more.

Virat continued patting his head and caressing his back, gently soothing him to sleep like a child.

After an hour, he noticed even his breathing had slowed-indicating that Rohit was in a deep sleep.

Virat broke the hug and adjusted him, making sure he was lying properly and covering him with the comforter. He kissed his forehead, unable to help but feel sad seeing those red, puffed eyes and tired face.

Virat himself lay down on the other side, closing his eyes, feeling utterly exhausted. The weight of everything finally took over, and he fell asleep.

After two hours, Virat's sleep was broken again. He turned his face and looked at Rohit, who was still sleeping, holding his hand.

Virat had consoled Rohit, but he would be lying if he said that whenever he saw him, he didn't remember his words. He sighed and gently removed his hand, stepping outside for some fresh air.

Everything seemed to be closing in on him.

He tried to take deep breaths, attempting to calm himself. He knew he had so much to take care of. The decision he had made required him to address everything soon.

He knew it was wrong. Aman was really upset with him, and then to Rohit, he had just said that he would never leave, but he had to. He couldn't let go of his nature, his work, but he had to let go of something, which he believed would be better for everyone.

Jassi woke up first and noticed Virat already making breakfast. "Got any sleep?" Jassi asked, joining him to help.

"For a little while," Virat replied, chopping veggies. "Are you okay? What about Aman?"

"I'm okay. Aman cried a bit, but then dozed off after a while," Jassi said, getting the coffee ready.

"Cried? Did he say anything?" Virat asked, to which Jassi shook his head.

Aman came into the living room, rubbing his eyes. He saw Virat and Jassi talking in the kitchen and smiled at the sight. But as soon as he remembered what Virat had said, his eyes welled up again. Virat noticed the change in his expression.

Virat knew that nothing was going to convince him. He finished getting everything ready and went to check on Rohit.

Jassi went and hugged Aman, to which he buried his face in his chest. "Still tired?" Jassi asked.

Aman just nodded.

"What's wrong, baby?" Jassi asked, noticing Aman was unusually silent in the morning. He was always the excited, whiny kid in the mornings.

"I'm so angry at bhai. I'm not gonna talk to him," Aman complained, which confused Jassi.

Aman broke the hug after five minutes, and Jassi caressed his cheeks, which made him smile a bit. "Breakfast?" Jassi asked, to which Aman nodded.

Virat noticed that Rohit was already in the bathroom, so he went outside to arrange breakfast as he had so much work to wrap up. Rohit came out after ten minutes, and all three of them noticed his red, puffy eyes, a result of his crying the previous day. No one said anything, and they had breakfast silently.

"We'll be leaving for the office soon, bhai," Jassi said, to which Virat nodded. Rohit was surprised that Jassi said "we," including him too.

"Robert has some leads. I'm meeting him today," Aman informed without looking at Virat.

Virat didn't know what to say to Aman. He just finished his breakfast and went to the study. Everyone went to their respective work.

It was 9 pm, and Virat noticed no one had returned and no one had called. Aman had not picked up his call in the evening, and neither had the other two. Soon, the doorbell rang. Virat opened the door and saw Jassi and Rohit supporting Aman, who was stumbling over his feet.

"Bhai," Aman said and threw himself into Virat's arms. Virat held him, but he noticed Aman was so out of it that he could barely stand. He took him inside and made him sit on the couch.

Virat cupped his cheeks and took a good look at him. "Why is he drunk?" he asked the other two.

"We have no idea, bhai. He called me, and we found him like this in a bar. He didn't say anything-he was just mumbling your name," Jassi explained.

"Aman!" Virat patted his cheeks.

"Don't talk to me! You're leaving me, just like my parents left me. I hate you, bhai!" Aman snapped, moving away from Virat's hold and getting up from the couch.

Rohit and Jassi were quick enough to hold him, and he completely leaned on Jassi, sobbing in his drunken state. "He's gonna leave us, Jas... he's gonna leave me," he said, breaking Virat's heart and shocking the other two.

Aman moved closer to Virat. "Why, bhai? Am I so bad? You know today, that person told me-you were the reason my parents are no more-that you killed them. You know how much it hurt to hear that. You didn't, right?" he said, slurring his words.

Virat was numb listening to that. Rohit and Jassi looked at each other, stunned by those words from Aman.

"Did you take away my parents from me?" Aman asked, holding Virat's collar. Jassi held him by his shoulder and took him in a hug as he continued to cry. He then gestured to Rohit and took Aman to their room, leaving Virat a statue in the living room.
