Jassi took Aman into the room and made him sit on the bed, then took out clothes for him to change into.
He went near him and cupped his cheeks. "Baby," he called softly. "He didn't, right? He can never do this," slurred Aman, seeing a blurry vision of Jassi.
Aman clung to Jassi, burying his face in his stomach. "Don't hate me—don't leave me—please, everyone is leaving me—please, you don't do that," he said in a low voice, feeling tired.
Jassi just patted his head lovingly and took him to the bathroom, letting the cold shower bring back his senses.
Once done, Aman was a bit more aware, so he got changed and came out, only to lean into Jassi's embrace, who was waiting outside.
"Feel better?" asked Jassi, hugging him back, to which Aman shook his head in Jassi's chest. Jassi took him to the bed and made him lie down.
"Bhai will hate me, Jas—he will leave me," Aman murmured, still a bit drunk.
"He can never hate you, baby—don't think like that," Jassi said.
Aman cuddled closer to him, and Jassi kept caressing his hair until he dozed off.
Meanwhile, in the living room, Rohit slowly approached Virat, who was still standing in the same place, numb and shocked. Rohit cupped his cheeks. "Vi, look at me," he said gently.
Rohit held him by his shoulders and guided him to their room. He made him sit on the bed and gave him some water to drink.
"Vi, are you with me?" Rohit asked softly, to which Virat nodded. Rohit held his hand and sat in silence, waiting for him to speak.
Virat took a deep breath after five minutes. "Order something for everyone. I'm sure no one has had dinner yet. Inform Jassi—I'll... umm, I'll be back in 10-15 minutes. I'm on the terrace," Virat said, feeling suffocated in the room. Before Rohit could stop him, he left.
"Robert! Where the hell were you? Aman was coming to meet you, right? Who got to him before you? And why the fuck did you meet in a bar?" yelled Virat, demanding answers while pacing on the terrace, smoking throughout the call.
His composure, which he had maintained in front of Rohit, completely faded away.
"Sir, I was five minutes late. I have no idea who met him. I'm getting the security footage. Sir, the bar was a crowded place—it was safer to avoid being identified, but I don't know how someone knew about the meeting," explained Robert.
"Find the person, Robert, or you're fired," Virat snapped and hung up the call.
He slid down against the wall, throwing his cigarette away, and buried his head in his hands.
Before he could think further, his phone rang—it was Jassi. "Bhai, please come quick. Aman is having a nightmare and panicking—" Virat didn't hear anything else and rushed downstairs.
Virat entered the room and saw Aman thrashing his legs violently, with Rohit holding his legs and Jassi trying to calm him by caressing his hair.
Virat sat beside Aman and took him into a hug so that Aman's head rested on his chest.
He caressed his hair. "Aman, shh—it's me, your Virat bhai. Bacha, you are safe—no one is taking you away from me. Calm down—we're at Jassi's house. I'm here with you; you're safe," Virat kept assuring him.
It took 20 minutes for Aman to breathe normally and stop thrashing. He calmed down, hearing Virat's heartbeat and voice.
Virat wiped the sweat off Aman's face with cold water. After five minutes, Aman woke up and saw a blurry vision of Virat.
He immediately hugged him, crying hard. "They were taking me away—they were separating us," he mumbled.
Jassi and Rohit teared up seeing the person who was always a bundle of joy suffering like this.
Rohit placed a hand on Jassi's shoulder, who buried his head in Rohit's shoulder, unable to bear seeing Aman like this. Rohit gently rubbed Jassi's back to console him.
"They're not, kiddo—it was just a dream. See, I'm here with you. It's an old memory, bacha. I'm right here by your side," Virat kept assuring him.
Aman nodded after some time. "Headache, bhai—it's paining," he complained, still clinging to him.
"Eat something and then have your tablets, okay?" Virat said. Rohit and Jassi went to get dinner for Aman while he held onto Virat tightly, refusing to let go.
Rohit handed the plate to Virat, who fed Aman half of it and then gave him the tablets. He sat beside him, caressing his hair as Aman held his hand tightly.
He also instructed Rohit and Jassi to have their dinner, which they did, not wanting to give him more reasons to worry.
It took two hours for Aman to fall into a deep sleep. Virat kissed his forehead, and once Aman's grip loosened, he left the room, with Jassi taking his place.
Rohit followed Virat to the study, where he was trying to calm himself by gripping the edges of the table tightly.
Rohit walked up to him and softly removed his hands, which were red from gripping the table so hard.
He pulled Virat into a hug. "Let it out, Vi. Let it out— I'm here," Rohit said gently.
Virat hugged him back, burying his head in Rohit's shoulder, but remained silent, not saying a word.
