Rohit got up the next morning and noticed Virat was still holding him, his head rested against Virat's chest. Rohit gently covered Virat, knowing he needed the rest.
He got freshened up and decided to make breakfast for Virat and Aman. As he worked in the kitchen, Aman walked in, rubbing his eyes sleepily.
"Did you and Bhai get married without me?" Aman asked, still half asleep, seeing Rohit in the kitchen.
Rohit got startled, and the hot spatula slipped from his hand. "Oh god, be careful," Aman said, applying ice to his hand.
"Who says things like that gives me a shock," Rohit replied as he went back to stirring the poha he had made.
Aman sat down in front of him on a chair. "Sorry for yesterday," he said after a few minutes.
"I'm sorry too for not talking to you when I was confused. I should have come to you. I won't do it again. You're my only friend, and I don't want to lose you," Rohit said sincerely.
"You'll never lose me," Aman reassured, "but don't do that again."
Before they could talk further, they heard Virat's loud voice on the phone as he stormed into the hall, still talking on the call and trying to put on his jacket.
"What nonsense are you talking about? There's no such clause in that contract, and I didn't even sign it," Virat yelled again, confusing both Aman and Rohit. "Alright, calm down. I'm coming to the office," he said, hanging up the phone.
"Where's my other phone? Who turned off my alarm? Do you have any idea how I missed an important meeting?" Virat snapped at both of them. Aman glanced at Rohit, whose face had lost all the happy color it had a while back.
Aman went near Virat, trying to calm him down. "Calm down, Bhai," he said softly.
"Calm down? Do you have any idea how much money I'm losing right now? It's three projects I've already lost, and this would be the fourth one, thanks to you guys! Never touch my things again," Virat said, storming out of the apartment and banging the door behind him, making Rohit flinch.
Even Aman felt bad about how Virat mentioned losing projects because of them. He noticed how Rohit quickly wiped away a tear that had rolled down his cheek.
Rohit packed the breakfast. "We should get ready for the office. He might need our help," he said, to which Aman nodded.
Rohit couldn't bring himself to go to Virat's room after what he had said. "You can change in my room," Aman said in understanding.
They changed and went down to find a car waiting with a driver sent by Virat.
Aman saw Rohit silent in the car. "Don't take it to heart, Rohit. Sometimes he just doesn't realize what he says in anger. I know it doesn't make it right, but he can't help it," Aman said.
"I know. I'm just wondering what clause and what file he was talking about," Rohit replied.
Rohit knew it wasn't the full truth, but it was the first thing on his mind at that moment.
Rohit and Aman went into the cabin, only to find Virat arguing over the phone about something. He called Aman and handed him some files. "There are files in Conference Room A. You need to find the clause the client is referring to," he said, giving Rohit a file to compare. Rohit immediately got to work.
Aman waited for Virat to finish his call. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to work with Rohit," Virat asked as he came back to the cabin after 10 minutes.
"Sit down first, Bhai," Aman said sternly.
"Do you have any idea what you blabbered in anger this morning? I know you don't mean it, but still, it hurt. What about Rohit? He's new in your life, doesn't know much about you. Is this how you welcome him? 'Don't touch your things'? Really?" Aman scolded Virat before leaving the room.
Virat sat there, processing what Aman had said. He rubbed his forehead in worry. Before he could go to them and apologize, he got another call that kept him occupied.
It was lunchtime. Rohit and Aman came back to the cabin to find him still occupied in a meeting. They handed him the files, and Virat muted the call.
"Go and have lunch," he said, after noticing them staring at him. "I've already emailed you something; I need the research by 4 pm. Aman, get the files from employees; we talked about the analysis."
They were just staring at him. What about his lunch?
"Move quickly, there's no time," Virat said, noticing their hesitation.
They left the cabin, hearing his bossy tone.
They reached the cafeteria. "Aman, why are you eating that? It's lunchtime," Rohit asked as he saw Aman eating poha.
"Yeah, so? Get us some rolls; that would be enough, filling, and we can eat quickly," Aman replied, still munching on the poha.
They sat down, having lunch. "I wish there was some way we could lessen his stress," Rohit said, feeling worried now.
"I know, but we can only help with the work he gives us," Aman said, understanding what Rohit meant.
Virat finally wrapped up his meeting and had 15 minutes to spare. He looked at the tiffin Aman had kept there. He opened it and saw the poha- Rohit had prepared it.
He regretted what he had said, but now he didn't know how to make up for it. With Aman, he never had to make an effort, but with Rohit, it was different.
He was scared-what if Rohit didn't forgive him?
