They took all the files and required documents from the office, then left for Rohit's apartment. But due to the rain, it took two hours for them to reach there. Rohit was mostly engrossed in his file while Virat was driving.
"We should just work from here today; we will go back tomorrow. It will just waste more time in traffic and rain," Virat said as they got out of the car. Rohit agreed, and they entered the apartment.
Both got freshened up and changed into comfortable clothes. Seeing Virat in his clothes, Rohit always found it really warm and felt more at home.
Virat sat on the couch with the files, and Rohit joined him, handing him a cup of coffee. Virat began explaining the things he needed to research about, to which Rohit listened carefully.
They didn't even realize how close they were sitting. Once their thighs touched, they immediately looked at each other. Rohit just looked down at the file, feeling shy at that moment.
"In the morning, you were not shy to hug me, and now you are?" teased Virat, to which Rohit pouted. Virat leaned in a bit and kissed his cheek, surprising him, then got back to work.
They worked for two more hours when Virat noticed that Rohit hadn't had his lunch. "We should order something," Virat said. Rohit just nodded, resting his head on Virat's shoulder while reading a clause from the book.
After half an hour, lunch arrived. Rohit plated everything as Virat was on a call. He placed it on the table in front of the couch, picking up the files.
Rohit fed Virat his dinner as he was listening on the call. At first, when he forwarded a bite, Virat was surprised, but then seeing his concerned face, he ate it.
Rohit wrapped everything up, and just as Virat finished his call, he noticed that Rohit seemed like he wanted to say something as he sat back on the couch.
"What's wrong?" Virat asked, lifting his chin up.
"Umm... I think we should go back to your place. This is very small, and managing all the files, books, and meals like this would be difficult for you," Rohit said, looking down, unsure of how Virat would react.
Virat cupped his cheeks. "You know, I was actually thinking the opposite. I think we should continue working at your place. It is cozy, and we can be close, you know? Get to know each other better," he said, caressing his cheek. "So, I'm going to bring my stuff here tomorrow," Virat said, surprising Rohit.
"Are you sure?" Rohit asked again.
"Yes, Ro, I am. We will be closer here. Anyway, the house feels empty, you know," Virat said gently.
"I love your apartment, I love being close to you like this," Virat said, kissing his forehead, making Rohit happy.
Rohit just hugged him, and then they got back to their work.
Rohit could notice how Virat seemed more stressed about this project; he wasn't composed like he usually is. "We are going to get this, Virat," he held his hand and whispered assuredly.
Virat looked at him, and Rohit could see the uncertainty in his eyes. "We will get this," he said. Virat just kissed Rohit's hand and gave him a smile as he said that.
After some time, Rohit rested his head in Virat's lap as he was reading a file. "I'm tired," he said, and Virat looked at him in surprise.
"So, sleep for some time on the bed properly. This is way too uncomfortable—you'll get a backache from the couch," Virat said with concern.
"You'll sit by my side?" Rohit asked, and Virat agreed. How could he deny that face?
Virat sat by his side, and Rohit kept his head in his lap. Virat just caressed his hair softly, which caused him to doze off.
Virat covered him with the comforter and kissed his forehead before going back to reading his file. But he took a moment to notice how peaceful it felt with Rohit. He kept the file aside and caressed his hair softly.
Virat observed how Rohit was finding comfort from the time they had talked it out. He told him about running from the orphanage, but after that, what happened? Where did he go? Was anyone there to take care of him? He needed to know everything.
These three weeks, not only professionally but personally, he also had to make efforts toward Rohit.
Meanwhile on the other side,
"I hope you didn't have any problems during the journey?" Jasprit said as they reached his cabin.
Aman smiled politely. "No, everything was fine," he replied.
"Let's order something, then we can get to work. Virat Sir has instructed to make sure you have a meal on time," he said, to which Aman groaned in embarrassment.
"Don't be embarrassed, it's just a big brother's care," Jasprit said, seeing his embarrassed face.
"How do you know him?" Aman asked, curious, as Virat had said Jasprit was a trusted person, someone he could trust with Aman's or the company's information.
"He helped me get a job when I met him in a café. He sponsored my internship. He has done a lot for me," Jasprit said, being grateful for Virat.
"He doesn't tell me half of these things," Aman mumbled to himself, which Jasprit heard and found it adorable the way he was complaining.
It didn't take long for them to become friends. Virat was the common topic for a while, and then the work and their interest in books.
"Instead of staying at the hotel, you could stay with me. I stay alone," Jasprit said, to which Aman agreed. He would love the company rather than staying alone.
"Can we go take my luggage tomorrow? It's in the opposite direction, and I'm really tired," Aman said, to which Jasprit agreed. He drove toward his home. After 10 minutes, he noticed silence in the car and saw Aman sleeping, curled up on the seat.
Jassi covered him with his jacket, to which he snuggled into it. He couldn't help but caress his cheek. He looked so cute. It was the very first time he felt something toward someone on first meeting.
