Chapter 33. Sailor Moon (Part 2)

December 25, 1995, Monday.

Gao Xinglang and Guan Xuchen were walking to school. As they walked, Gao Xinglang suddenly asked Guan Xuchen, "Soupy, did you watch the movie edition of Sailor Moon R last night?"

"Yes, I did. Did you watch it, too, Lang?" Guan Xuchen was very happy to hear that Gao Xinglang had also watched it.

He really liked the movie from the night before. The movie opens with the young Tuxedo Mask on the rooftop of a hospital, giving a rose to an alien boy named Fiore, who expresses his gratitude to Tuxedo Mask and says, "Someday in the future, I will bring you back a lot of flowers."

Then Fiore disappears, leaving the young Tuxedo Mask crying.

When Guan Xuchen saw this scene, his eyes welled up with emotion, and somehow he was reminded of himself and Gao Xinglang.

Later, Fiore thinks Tuxedo Mask has betrayed him and causes a lot of trouble to Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon. But in the end, he realizes his mistake. He injects all his energy into a flower and gives it to Tuxedo Mask, so that the latter can save Sailor Moon. Afterwards, Fiore reverts to his young appearance. He leaves Tuxedo Mask once again and returns to the universe.

Guan Xuchen couldn't help but cry when he saw the end, and was teased by his parents.

Now, when he heard that Gao Xinglang had also watched this movie, he assumed Gao must have been very moved as well. So he asked again, "Lang, wasn't the movie last night wonderful?"

"It was okay," Gao Xinglang smiled indifferently and then said with a slightly confused look, "I just don't understand why Tuxedo Mask would give a rose to a boy. Is he a gay or something?"

Guan Xuchen sensed a hint of disdain in Gao Xinglang's tone and felt both disappointed and a little embarrassed. He could only reply, "Well, I don't think so. Didn't he kiss Sailor Moon at the end?"

Then he changed the subject and talked about something else.

After the two returned to the classroom, Gao Xinglang walked over to his seat and just sat down, when three boys, Ao Feifan, Yao Zhengxia and Ding Jianjun, came over to him.

Ao Feifan first asked with a giggling smile, "Prince Lang, did you watch the Sailor Moon R movie last night?"

Gao Xinglang casually replied, "I did, why?"

Before Ao Feifan could reply, Yao Zhengxia smirked and said, 'What do you think? Were the scenes of those sailor girls transforming very attractive?"

Ding Jianjun also chimed in, "Yeah, yeah, it would be great if we could record them and watch them in slow motion."

Gao Xinglang was puzzled and asked, "Did you watch this cartoon just to see the transformation of the sailor girls?"

"Come on, Prince Lang, don't tell me that you don't like watching the transformation of beautiful girls?" Ao Fanfan teased, "Or perhaps just like that Fiore, you are gay and you like boys?"

With that, he and Yao Zhengxia and Ding Jianjun burst out laughing.

"Yes, I'm gay and I like you the most, Fanfan," Gao Xinglang teased, throwing a flirtatious glance at Ao Feifan. Ao Feifan, startled, took two steps back, raising his fists and said, "Gao Xinglang, don't you dare! I know Shaolin kungfu."

"I'm not Tuxedo Mask, and I'm not gay, " Gao Xinglang said seriously. He then mockingly added, "Besides, Bro Feifan, just look in the mirror. Even a gay guy wouldn't like you."

After that, he burst out laughing with Ding Jianjun and Yao Zhengxia.

"Moron!" Ao Feifan felt embarrassed and went back to his seat dejectedly. Ding Jianjun and Yao Zhengxia continued joking with Gao Xinglang until it was time for Chinese morning reading, when they each went back to their seats.
