Chapter 43. We're in the Same Class Again! (Part 3)

For more than two hours of military training in the afternoon, the content seemed very monotonous to the students. Apart from practicing the standing posture, it was just a repetition of three movements: standing at attention, at ease, and right dress.

At the end of the first day of military training, Guan Xuchen felt as if he had run several 1,000-meter sprints, and Gao Xinglang also felt that it was much harder than the usual basketball training.

Ning Dan, the instructor, was also covered in sweat, but his expression was much more relaxed than at the beginning. He joked, "Next up is everyone's favorite part – going to the canteen for dinner!"

The boys all laughed heartily when they heard this.

Ning Dan continued, "After dinner, you can all relax a bit. At 7 pm, gather on the playground, and we'll teach you some military songs!"

Then he said seriously to the 28 boys in front of him, "Boys Class 3, Senior One, at my command: Attention, turn left, and march!"

At dinner, Gao Xinglang, Guan Xuchen, Ao Feifan, and Shen Yifei were arranged by the instructor at the same table. Ao Feifan had to sit exactly opposite Gao Xinglang, glaring at him angrily. Gao Xinglang didn't care at all. Since the instructor had forbidden idle chatter during meals, Gao Xinglang simply focused on eating, occasionally exchanging smiles with Guan Xuchen.

After dinner, the students could finally let their tense nerves relax a bit. Many students from other schools were wandering around the campus in small groups. When Gao Xinglang and the other three boys walked out of the canteen, Ao Feifan offered to show Shen Yitian around the campus. Shen Yitian wanted to invite Gao Xinglang and Guan Xuchen and take this opportunity to resolve the conflict between Ao Fan and Gao Xinglang, but Ao Fan looked reluctant.

Seeing this, Gao Xinglang smiled and said, "Prince Tian, you should go with Bro Feifan. I'll treat you to a bite some other time."

After Ao Feifan and Shen Yitian left, Guan Xuchen said with a hint of grievance, "Lang, military training was really tough today!"

Gao Xinglang put his hand on Guan Xuchen's shoulder and said with a smile, "Soupy, I'm here with you. There are only four days left; it'll be over soon."

Guan Xuchen's tired expression was replaced by a shallow smile.

Gao Xinglang then suggested, "Soupy, why don't we take a walk around the campus together?"

Guan Xuchen shook his head, saying, 'Lang, let's go back to the dormitory and take a shower first."

Gao Xinglang looked puzzled, "Isn't it better to take a shower after the evening activities?"

Guan Xuchen explained, "I don't know what time the evening activities will end. There will be a lot of people taking showers then, and the lights will be turned off at 10 o'clock for bed. It's better to take a shower now when there are fewer people. We can wear casual clothes for the evening activities anyway."

"Soupy, you're really thoughtful," Gao Xinglang nodded in agreement, then smiled and said, "Let's go back and take a shower then."

The two returned to the dormitory and saw many boys were already heading towards the communal bathroom with basins and towels. Gao Xinglang became a little anxious: "Oops, looks like many people have the same idea. Soupy, we have to hurry, or there will be even more people later."

The two entered the dorm room and didn't see anyone else. Gao Xinglang walked over to the edge of the bunk bed where he and Guan Xuchen shared, and then took off the top of his military training uniform.

Guan Xuchen sat on the bottom bunk bed packing his shower things. When he casually looked up, he saw Gao Xinglang's firm pectoral muscles and neatly defined abs, as well as the glistening beads of sweat on the skin, just like an ancient Greek athlete. Guan Xuchen couldn't help but become entranced.
