Chapter 15

Luke's POV

It's been close to three months since I last talked to Kayla. "Dude, you were totally just getting checked out by those cheerleaders." Derek said I smirked and looked at the girls. "How much you wanna bet I get their numbers?" I asked looking at Derek "Both of them? Mmm 25." I nodded and walked to the girls. As I was getting the second girls number I saw Christina run by me and too the girls locker room. Weird I thought and finished getting the second girls number. "Pay up" I smirked walking back to Derek. He groaned and gave me my money. As I was walking out of the locker room I saw Kayla and Christina talking on a bench and I decided to go talk to them, but then a car pulled up and they got in. I sighed walking home. "Man I fucked up. Kayla doesn't even realize me anymore." I mumbled to myself.

When I got to my house I unlocked the door and walked in. "Luke is that you?" Jenna asked from the laundry room "Nope! I'm just a burglar who happens to have a key to get in." I said sarcastically walking to the laundry room. "Ha... Ha... Very funny." She said throwing clothes into the dryer. "I know I'm a comical genius. So what's up?" I asked leaning on the door frame; Jenna smiled "Oh yeah! The club opens this Friday so we won't be here Friday and Saturday night. I hope you don't mind but you can have friends over just not a party got it?" She said giving me a motherly look. I shivered and nodded. "Does it matter if I invite girls?" She frowned "I guess not- but no sex better take place in my house or on my property." I rolled my eyes "I'll make sure that doesn't happen" I said and walked out to my room. When I got there I decided to start a group message; but was hesitant to add Kayla. But I ended up adding her anyway.

(Group Message)
Me- Okay so this weekend I'm inviting you guys and JUST you guys to my house for a party type thing.
Cameron- Cool bro what night?
Me- Saturday
Christina- YOU IDIOT!! THATS THE NIGHT OF HOMECOMING DANCE!!
Me- And your point is? Just come after
Jackie- Mmm good idea I'll be there
Cody-Me too
Cameron- I'm in
Suzan- cool beans count me in!
Derek- Sorry bro. Can't I gotta stay home and watch my baby sister.
Me- That's alright man. So everyone's answered except Kayla.
Kayla-No way jackass, I would go but I'd get there and you'd say don't tell anyone.
Suzan- Damn Kayla that was rude...
Kayla- Oh I'm sorry. How bout this, I don't want to go to Luke's house cause his heads up his ass. =)
(Pause message)

I flinched at Kayla's harsh words; that hurt I thought.

Cameron- Damn Kayla
Jackie- For real... Anyways Kayla pleeaasssssssssseeeeeee?????
Kayla- But what about us girls staying at Suzan's house?
Suzan- I can just have my sister pick us up when we're ready to leave
Christina- Yeah see Kayla it'll all work out. So will you please come???
Kayla- Ugh! Fine but not cause I want to.
Cody- Then why are you if you don't want to?
Kayla- Because I don't feel like sitting at Suzan's house with her parents and sister by my self.
Me- Okay so everyone except Derek is coming. Any drink request?
Jackie- Malabo and Smirnoff
Cody- Fireball
Suzan-Ummmm Corona
Cameron- Bro don't forget Crown and coke
Kayla-Vanilla Vodka and Reds Apple Ale
Christina-Oooo I'm with Kayla!! Oh oh and Whipped Cream Vodka
Me-Okay I got it? I'll have Jenna pick it all up before they leave.

After the group message I wrote down all the drink and few things I wanted. "Jenna! Can you got out and get all of this before you guys leave on Friday!" I yelled looking for her in the house; I was just about to turn around a corner when I ran straight into Jenna's back. "What the hell Jenna!? Why are you just-" "shhhhhhh" she said not moving. "Mind telling me what the hell is going on?" I whispered at her. She slowly moved to the side letting me see what she saw. I felt the blood drain from my face as I looked at the dark shadow sitting in the window sill facing ing the backyard. I slowly backed up pulling Jenna with me once we were around the corner we ran to the first room that came up; my bedroom. We ran in and she locked the door then turned to me. "Well looks like it's back." She sighed walking over to my desk chair and sitting down. "What did we do last time?" I asked handing her the drink list then going to sit on my bed. "We didn't do anything it just kinda disappeared. Remember?" I nodded.

Let me fill you in; sometime last year this shadow thing started appearing around the house. The first time it stayed outside in the backyard just staring at the house with its all black eyes. The second time it was in the wooded area by our house, and once again it was staring at the house. The day I told Kayla I was the one from the party when she said she heard something we were right next to the wooded area, and I didn't want to find out if  this thing was there.This has happened on and off the past year; it wasn't very many times but the thing has never been inside the before... That is until today. "Ugh! I just hope it's gone on Saturday." I said looking at the ceiling.
