((I've got another long one for you guys! And this one's.. well it's unique! Horror's kind of a freak, y'all. An angsty one, but. Well he ripped the plot out of my hands for a hot minute and dragged it into Freaky Slime Time so have fun with that I guess. And then a piglin stole the plot for the later half!))
He glanced one last time back at the village before opening the door, heading inside. The wither and enderman hadn't followed. It would have been awkward if they had. His skull felt heavy, aching slightly.. but oddly he didn't mind the feeling. It was weird when the slime moved, but it seemed rather lethargic and unbothered there, so in his head it stayed.
Horror kept moving down the hall, squinting now that he was alone and could think.
Now that he thought about it, it was a weird impulse. Half the reason he even gave into it was because they were still slimes, and nothing ever happened to them when he ate them.
But it was still a desire. More than the hunger, it still flared up time and again even while having cooked food now. Some.. twisted part of him wanted to eat what looked cute. He normally just ignored it, but it was a little hard to ignore when his insides were squirming and a part of him.. liked it.
…Why the hell did he like that?
It wasn't like Merlot, who at this point almost registered as a part of him on some level, like another sense rather than something living under his decayed skin. He was distinctly aware of these slimes.
He found himself in the kitchen, sliding his feet towards the pantry in the corner. Without really thinking about it, Horror opened a cabinet, pulling out some glowberries.
He'd already eaten a few with more on his tongue when he finally realized what he was doing.
Bad idea, probably wouldn't work out well with slimes there already.
Frowning, Horror instead held the rest of the berries up to his hole, offering them to the slime sitting heavily inside. He felt part of it lifting up to touch them before retreating again. Huh. Either it didn't like glowberries or wasn't hungry.
And he felt like something was forcing its way back up.
…Someone liked glowberries, it seemed.
There was an almost acidic tang in the back of his throat as it grew hard to breathe. Horror stared at the berries in hand, holding his breath as he debated what to do. As he thought, he idly plucked them off the dried out vine until they were all free. The acidic tanginess was creeping across his tongue. Orange, he was pretty sure it was that one.
An idea struck him then, popping some berries in his mouth and the rest in his inventory as he went to find some chocolate chips. They were hidden in the back of a nearby cupboard where Error couldn't find them, and he held a handful over his hole experimentally.
He was almost taken off guard by how suddenly it lunged, outright enveloping his hand and dragged it back. Horror winced as he incidentally banged against the sensitive edges. He was only able to free his hand again by releasing the chocolate.
Interesting.
Now this could almost be a game. Horror didn't necessarily mind such a game. He popped the rest of the berries in his mouth, finding the different tart flavors blended quite nicely. The tangerine slime definitely tasted very orange.
He went looking for something pink to eat, mildly amused with a slime sitting in his head and another in his mouth- Fresh really did have a point, he was weird with slimes.
What Fresh didn't understand was that he was so accustomed to and comfortable with Merlot living under his skin that at some point the idea of more slimes had stopped being a weird thought.
What he should probably consider were the merits of where he could keep them.
…Probably not where they were now, all things considered. Though in his head was probably fine.
He eventually found some experimental candy he'd made using redstone. It had been dyed a reddish pink with the sugar mixing into redstone. Hmm.
Horror figured it was good enough, swallowing the orange back down to gnaw on the metallic candy, looking for another color. Maybe blue.. no, he couldn't think of anything actually edible he had that was blue at all.
…Or did it have to be food?
