Enjoy~

It had been a week since Jeonghan joined Jeon Enterprises, and to everyone's surprise, he had quickly adjusted to the office environment. Even more unexpected was how well he and Taehyung got along. Their easy camaraderie was visible in the office corridors, whether they were discussing work or sharing a laugh over a coffee break. Jeonghan’s charm and politeness, combined with Taehyung’s warm and approachable nature, made them an ideal duo.

Meanwhile, the deal with Starlight Enterprise was progressing smoothly. Frequent visits from its CEO, Han Jeesung, ensured that every detail of the partnership was meticulously reviewed. However, to Jungkook, these visits seemed suspiciously excessive. It appeared to him that Jeesung wasn’t solely interested in business but rather in spending time with Taehyung.

This observation irked Jungkook to no end. He couldn’t understand why he felt his blood boil every time he saw Jeesung and Taehyung talking, laughing, or simply standing near each other. He didn’t want to admit it, but the sight of them together left him feeling inexplicable frustration.

To make matters worse, Seokjin and Hoseok seemed to be thriving on Jungkook's inner turmoil. They’d noticed his subtle glares at Jeesung or the way his jaw tightened whenever Taehyung and Jeesung shared a moment.

During lunch breaks, the two hyungs never missed a chance to tease Jungkook.

“Honestly, Kook,” Hoseok said with a smirk one afternoon, “if looks could kill, Jeesung wouldn’t have survived his first visit.”

Seokjin snorted, adding, “You’re glaring at him like he stole your favourite toy when he’s just doing his job… or maybe not.”

“Do you two even work here?” Jungkook snapped, glaring at them. “I swear, if you have time to poke your noses into my life, then maybe I should reassign your workload.”

But instead of being intimidated, the two laughed harder, much to Jungkook’s irritation.

“He’s hilarious when he’s angry,” Seokjin commented. “No wonder Jeesung keeps coming back; the entertainment is free.”

Jungkook groaned, rubbing his temples, wondering why he hadn’t fired them already. He muttered under his breath, “They’re so annoying,” but deep down, he knew they weren’t wrong. Something about Jeesung’s growing closeness with Taehyung bothered him, and the fact that Seokjin and Hoseok could see it only made it worse.

The frustration in Jungkook's life seemed to have no bounds. As if dealing with Jeesung’s frequent visits and his growing closeness to Taehyung wasn’t enough, his home life offered no respite either. Mrs. Jeon, his ever-persistent mother, was constantly hovering, turning every meal into a Jeonghan Q&A session.

Breakfast usually started with his mother offering advice on how to treat Jeonghan, her tone dripping with insistence.

“Kook, make sure you’re polite and a gentleman with Jeonghan, okay? He’s new and might feel out of place.”

Jungkook could only scoff internally. Polite? Gentleman? What am I, his personal babysitter? He was the CEO, for heaven’s sake, not Jeonghan’s caretaker.

Dinner wasn’t any better. His mother would inquire endlessly about Jeonghan’s day as if he were a child at summer camp.

“Did Jeonghan have any complaints about you today?”

“Did you treat him well, Kook?”

Jungkook would grit his teeth at such questions, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. “Why would Jeonghan have complaints about me? I’m his boss, not the other way around,” he’d mutter under his breath. But Mrs. Jeon remained oblivious to his irritation, cheerfully reminding him to ensure Jeonghan felt welcome.
