As soon as they arrived at their destination, Taehyung stepped out of the car and blinked in disbelief at the sight before him. Bright lights, colourful rides, and the sound of excited laughter filled the air—it was an amusement park.
"Hyung, seriously? An amusement park?" Taehyung questioned, turning toward Hoseok with a raised brow, his voice laced with scepticism.
Hoseok, stepping out of the car with an excited grin, looked at him in confusion. "Yeah? What's wrong with that?"
"Hyung, kids, come here. We’re adults," Taehyung deadpanned, crossing his arms as if the very idea of being at an amusement park was ridiculous.
Hoseok rolled his eyes dramatically and scoffed. "Tae, you're so boring sometimes. You're talking like a seventy-year-old grandpa. Come on, we’re still young! Let yourself loose and just enjoy!" he said, slinging an arm around Taehyung’s shoulder before playfully shoving him forward. Without waiting for a response, Hoseok cheerfully ran off to join the others, leaving Taehyung standing there sulking.
Jimin, who had been watching the interaction with amusement, walked up to Taehyung and nudged him. "Oh, come on, Tae. This place is fun! Were you expecting our hangout to be in a library or something?" he teased, smirking at his best friend’s unenthusiastic expression.
Taehyung sighed, but before he could protest further, Jimin grabbed his wrist. "Enough whining—let's just enjoy it!" With that, Jimin enthusiastically dragged him toward the entrance, laughing at Taehyung’s reluctant footsteps.
Soon, the group was inside the park, the lively atmosphere buzzing around them. Everywhere they looked, people were enjoying rides, playing carnival games, and munching on snacks. The scent of popcorn, cotton candy, and fried food filled the air, and despite his initial hesitation, Taehyung couldn't deny that the energy was infectious.
Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad after all.
After looking around and deciding on their first ride, the group purchased their wristbands and made their way toward the Drop Tower—one of the most thrilling rides in the park. The towering structure loomed over them, the sounds of riders screaming as they plummeted, adding to the adrenaline-filled atmosphere.
"Are we seriously doing this first?" Taehyung asked, eyeing the ride warily.
"Of course! We gotta start with something exciting," Hoseok grinned, practically bouncing on his feet.
They stood in the queue, chatting as they waited for their turn. One by one, the previous riders got off, their expressions ranging from exhilarated to downright terrified. Soon, it was their turn.
Jungkook, without hesitation, walked forward and took the first seat, securing himself in place. Behind him, Taehyung and Jimin followed, with Taehyung intending to sit two seats away from Jungkook. But before he could sit, Jimin, with a mischievous smirk, gave him a push.
"Sit next to Jungkook," Jimin whispered, nudging him forward.
Taehyung stumbled slightly but quickly regained his footing, ready to take the seat beside Jungkook—only for Jeonghan to suddenly rush in and sit there first.
With a bright, sweet smile, Jeonghan looked at Jungkook. "I’ll sit here!" he announced cheerfully, securing himself in place.
Jungkook internally groaned in frustration. He had secretly hoped Taehyung would sit next to him, and now that chance was gone. His jaw clenched, but he said nothing, simply looking ahead with a neutral expression.
