Happy New Year everybody! This is a gift for baeutlif who wanted another chapter & everybody else who looked forward to the update <3

Mark tried to concentrate on his work. It helped when he was writing articles. But just as he walked away from his computer, the vampire felt that feeling again. Days passed but he felt emptier and emptier. What was this feeling? It was so foreign... Mark had never felt this way before.

Was it loneliness or sadness, or were these two together? He felt anxious about this.

Mark had lived alone here for quite a while, but it had to be the first time he felt lonely and sad. He tried to find an answer and explain this as his constant interest and concern in Donghyuck's life. He had been checking on the boy almost every day, he had someone to take care of, and now he hadn't seen the kid for two weeks. Now, it had consequences. Mark's routine had holes.

He thought of the human as his friend for sure. Mark knew he did. Donghyuck was the first ever human who knew about his secret and got used to it, unlike Mark's friends from uni, therefore the vampire turned protective over him. Although he did care about Donghyuck's blood, a lot as he now realized it was addicting, he also cared about the human's life in general. Where else could he spend his money if not buying food for a human? The vampire didn't even need that much money.

Mark continued being confused about his feelings and felt the need to see Donghyuck. Once, in the third week, he almost came to the human. He had to run away as respecting Donghyuck's decision and privacy had to be the most important part. Mark felt like he'd do better if he didn't know what Donghyuck was up to. And, he hoped that the human really stopped drinking and bringing himself trouble.

He roamed the night to clear his head, but nothing helped. He kept seeing human males with a similar figure to Donghyuck. Every time he got himself fooled and felt disappointed when they passed by and those guys weren't even similar to that human. Wasn't it funny? Mark kept confusing humans just like Donghyuck kept hooking up with guys that looked like the vampire. Sensing the impossible, Mark panicked and tried to dissociate himself from all of this. This can't be happening! He bought seven bottles of booze and drank until his vampire organism couldn't keep up with it and let him get intoxicated.

Mark was disappointed in himself as he just did like Donghyuck. It was like he learned this stuff from the human. Drinking didn't take the problems away. It just helped to forget them for some time, but maybe that was what Mark needed. He weakened himself which turned his mind away from the human. He suffered from a hangover the next day, which forced him to leave his house and hunt a human for blood late at night.

As soon as he got blood, which was of poor quality, as Mark healed slowly, he felt the strength getting back, but so did all of the feelings. Mark tried to block them all as they made him uncomfortable and ruined his calm life. He started thinking that he shouldn't have asked Donghyuck to give him blood in the first place. What if constantly feeding on the same human makes a vampire dependent on them? Mark felt like he got addicted. No one tasted like Donghyuck.

Was it because of oxytocin?

What if Mark liked Donghyiuck's blood so much he started feeling all of these feelings of sadness and separation anxiety just because he got the taste of oxytocin, which he lacked now? According to Taeyong, it was a "love hormone". What if that love hormone messed up with Mark's head as it was secreted in Donghyuck's blood just because of him?

He wanted to talk things out with someone. Mark had several vampire friends but this subject wasn't something he would've loved to tell to someone. Especially after not seeing them for years and then jumping right into their embrace with an awkward question about feelings. Mark only had the family he always loved and cared for. But they too... Mark didn't want to tell Taeyong as it made him uneasy—he would lecture him instead. He didn't want to talk about it with Jeno either. The youngest was always awkward about these things. The only suitable person had to be Doyoung since he used to be a human before!
