Returning to the humiliating hunting of birds, Mark finally fed himself enough to regain strength and heal his broken arm. Then he concluded, he walked from one corner to another, not really finding any place to settle down.

He had to see Donghyuck.

Those two times they met, Donghyuck acknowledged Mark and didn't ignore him. If he hated the vampire, he would just leave him as soon as he recognized the bat, right? And that one time he saw Mark around the apartment building... Why did he call for him? He would've run inside if he wanted to be left alone instead of exposing himself to remembering it.

Before Mark tasted the human's blood, it was hard to understand Donghyuck's body language or expressions. But now, just because of blood, Mark knew that Donghyuck must've been in the process of moving on, but not very successfully. Why else would his blood secrete oxytocin just because he recognized the bat?

Mark waited for an evening. Then manned up and made a short trip to Donghyuck's apartment. As soon as his eyes landed on the boy's window, Mark felt anxious. You see, a bright light came from it, and as Mark got into the tree, he noticed that the window was wide open too. There was no sight of Donghyuck which encouraged the vampire to get closer, but there was something more. He saw a piece of paper taped on the windowsill.

Flying closer, Mark read it.

YOU'RE NOT WELCOME IF YOUR NAME ISN'T MARK.

His heart warmed up at first as he realized Donghyuck anticipated him. But then Mark's blood boiled! Who else was coming in? The vampire heard the sound of flapping wings and strong energy around. Soon another bat joined him on the windowsill.

"Isn't it sad?" a deep manly voice came out of a little bat. "I had been coming there for a while until this sign popped up. Right after, all the bad things started to happen. The human even bought a cross necklace! He puts it on his neck when he goes to sleep. I think he knows about us."

"So, you've been feeding on him?" Mark asked, trying to hide his anger.

"Yup. Good quality blood if you ask me."

Mark opened his mouth to ask another question when suddenly the bathroom door closed, and Donghyuck walked in. His face revealed that he saw two bats on his windowsill. He seemed angry. Mark and his vamp bro freaked out and flew to the tree. The human, though, still saw them.

"Stop coming and don't you dare bring any friends!" Donghyuck stuck out his head and hissed, staring at the tree that wasn't a hideout anymore. "I have your bites all over my arms and they're fucking itchy!"

Drawing back, he mumbled something about buying a water gun.

"Yeah, he knows," the bat scoffed. "There's no reason to stay here anymore. Bye."

He flew away and Mark was thankful. Otherwise, he would've attacked that guy! How dare he come and see Donghyuck?

Sighing, he emerged from under the branches and leaves and landed on the windowsill again. Donghyuck didn't see him as he dried his wet hair and walked around the room. Mark liked this. Silently, he could admire the human and his routine while feeling invisible for some time. But maybe his stare was too intense, as, after a few minutes, Donghyuck looked over his shoulder and gasped.

He ran to his bed and took a magazine he wanted to throw at the bat. Panicking, Mark cleared his throat and said, "It's me."

The human sighed and putting his arm down, "Oh, it really is you. Don't tell me that I yelled at you earlier too."

"I was there, but there was another guy as well."

"He just keeps coming here!" Donghyuck groaned, sitting on his bed.
