Alex successfully caught some illness in school with fever and sore throat. Which meant that my oh-so-strong girlfriend hit the bed two days after him. She hit the bed so hard that she had a hard time accepting my calls or answering my texts, so I had to find out about her health by barging in her house.

"I'm fine. I just didn't want to bother you." She sat, basically fall, down onto the chair in the kitchen, watching me pour a glass of water for her.

Her tone was weak and tired, every word forcing her to cough. My heart weeped for her, the way her tired eyes closed. I never saw her this weak before. I never saw her physically weak before.

"Why didn't you call me, honey?" I placed the glass on the table in front of her, brushing the back of my palm against her forehead to check for fever.

"It's not that bad. I'm fine. Really." Like the universe was trying to prove her wrong, she started coughing and didn't stop for a good minute.

"Really?" I raised my eyebrows, watching her red face.

"Don't worry." She pushed herself up from the chair, touching my arms, probably to steady herself. The sweats hung low on her waist and her oversized t-shirt clung to her body. "I'll be better for tomorrow. I just need a good sleep."

I didn't want to tell her that this was probably not happening, since it looked like she really believed what she said. So I just went with it.

"Then let me be here for you for today, okay?" I offered, taking her hand, tangling her fingers with mine.

"Okay." She nodded slowly, agreeing with me instantly. I was a bit hurt that she didn't call me when she was in need of help, but I had to put my stupid thoughts aside and focus on her.

"Let's go to bed, alright?" I caressed the back of her hand with my thumb, smiling when she nodded in agreement.

When we reached her bedroom and she tried to sit down onto the bed, but I stopped her quickly. "Wait. You should shower. It will help your fever go down." I suggested, pulling her towards the bathroom already.

I helped her get undressed in silence, taking her clothes and putting them in the laundry basket before walking out to find new sweatpants and a t-shirt for her. When I returned she was still standing in the middle of her huge bathroom.

"Why aren't you showering?" I placed the clean folded clothes on the top of the basket.

"I was waiting for you." Her voice was hoarse, causing her to cough. "You are joining me, right?" Her body shivered, her fever running high.

"You want me to join you?" I asked, taking my shirt off already. I was careful with her since it seemed like having me here when she was sick was a bit out of her comfort zone.

Clara was surprisingly obedient. Doing what I said, when I said it, how I said it. She let me clean her body, wash her hair. "Can I turn it warmer?"

She asked, visibly shivering under the pouring water. It was already a bit warmer than it should be, but my heart couldn't bear to watch her shiver.

"It's already too warm, Clara."

She let out a pout, her face morphing in sadness. So I sped up the process to get her out from beneath the water as soon as possible. There was nothing sexy or hot in the shower, so I have no idea why her mind traced to those paths.

"We didn't have sex in almost a week, you know." She pointed it out. I knew it too, I realized it too. The last time we had sex was on her birthday. Which was amazing, mind blowing. But it didn't make it ok to not taste her for a week.
