Transformers: Eradication

Part 33: Simply Overkill

The Eradicons seem to be having as nice bonding moment while on their way to New York. Something does make the tension go horribly wrong.

Vortex: "Starscream, there's been something on my mind that I've been meaning to ask."

Scream: "What is it?"

Vortex: "Well I see you have stilettos."

Scream: "And?"

Vortex: "Well.... is there something you want to tell us?"

Scream: "I don't follow."

Vortex: "Were you a woman once?"

Dragstrip explodes into laughter and Brawl gets confused.

Brawl: "Does this mean my daddy was a mommy all along? Mind blown!"

Scream: (shrill) ""WHAT?! NO!"

Vortex: "So I guess you're just effeminate then."

Scream: "Yes... wait I mean no!"

Swindle: "The plot thickens eh?"

Dead: "I don't care."

While rowing Vortex loses control of his oar, and it hits Brawl in the face. The oar breaks instantly with Brawl not even flinching.

Vortex: "You alright?"

Brawl: "I zoned out. What happened?"

Vortex: "Never mind."

Drag: "You guys are taking too long. I'll do it!"

Dragstrip steals Brawl's oar and rows so fast that the raft violently spins in a circle. Everyone is disoriented except for Motormaster, who's miniscule patience has expired. Dragstrip is at Motormaster's full mercy as he is grabbed.

Motor: "I do not like to be delayed just like you, but you have extended the wait for Optimus Prime, and I do not like that. For your crimes I should crush your fragile head, all it takes is the slightest...force."

Swindle: "Now let's not do something we might regret. Team killing is very bad for business!"

Dead: "I don't mind it. I wish it was me he was going to kill, but Dragstrip would be the next logical choice."

Drag: "Oh suck my muffler!"

Motormaster punches him in the stomach. It's like all of the air in his body was forced out.

Motor: (dark) "I don't care about combining, and I don't care about you. If I had my way I would do this alone. I hear the humans call it Darwinism when it's the strongest that survive. I believe it's time to purge the weak link."

Scream: "That's enough, Motormaster. I order you to-"

Motormaster simply turns his head and looks at Starscream. Starscream finds himself completely paralyzed with fear. It's as if someone has strapped weights to his feet, rendering him immobile. Motormaster returns his focus to the helpless Dragstrip.

Drag: (bold) "You talk so tough but deep down you know you need me. If things go south you better hope we're around. You don't want admit it but you need us. I know you won't kill me."

Motormaster laughs quietly and seems to lighten up a bit.

Motor: "I suppose you're right. You are part of the team. Though there is one miscalculation."

Drag: "What's that."

Motormaster in the spur of the moment raises Dragstrip over his head, and slams him down on his knee, and it nearly breaks Dragstrip's back. The fallen Dragstrip is kicked into the face so hard that he is jettisoned from the raft, bouncing across the water before sinking.

Motor: "But I can hurt you!"

Brawl: "I want my mommy/daddy!"

Vortex dives into the water to save Dragstrip and returns him to shore. He has to be repaired by Swindle.

Vortex: "Well I just saved speedy with the swimming I just conveniently learned to use."

Drag: "Hey, Swindle, can't you just pull out some giant thrusters to make this thing go faster?"

Swindle "Now why didn't I think of that?"

Dead: "Because you're an idiot and a piece of garbage. The end just can't come soon enough!"

Swindle pops out two thrusters and the raft goes into hyperdrive.

Scream: "Soon vengeance will be mine!"

Back in the city the shot of Buzzsaw's death is heard like a shot around the world. Ratbat, Laserbeak, and Ravage regroup to discuss the new turnout.

Laser: -caw- (Megatron and Soundwave will be most unhappy to hear this)

Ravage- roar- (You can tell them what happened)

Ratbat: "As the new leader the responsibility falls on me."

The three fly off in search for their masters, and around the same time Beastbox and Squawktalk find each other and start crying.

"He's dead and it's all my fault!"

"Bro, it wasn't your fault!"

"I should have stayed with him! I could have stopped this."

"No way. He's gone man. We just gotta move on."

-sniff- "Even though he scared me to death he was still family. I can't lose anyone else, especially you."

(teary eyed) "Now you're making it harder to keep it together!"

"I used to think food was everything, but this isn't fun anymore. I just want to go home!"

"Me too!"

"I have a foolproof idea so that we we won't be apart."

"What is it?"

"We combine into Squawkbox. We'll never be alone the whole time. With our combined power we can avenge Buzzsaw."

"Let's do it!"

The two combine into Squawkbox and jump high to gain more grounding. Rumble emerges from the chasm that he fell in. Luckily the Dinobots seem to have left the area. He doesn't see Frenzy or Overkill, but he does find Slugfest following Blaster and Ironhide. He decides to go search for his brother since he believes Slugfest has the situation under control.

At the MECH warehouse Silas hears the shot and realizes the importance of the coming events.

Silas: "It's time. We need to move now."

Attinger: "Very well. Get in the van."

Emmett: "I call shotgun!"

The four ride in the van with Savoy driving and Emmett taking shotgun. They are hoping to find some leftovers just like in the previous battles. At the heart of the city Shockwave is making the Driller attack the tallest buildings to draw out Optimus Prime, and he is successful. He and the Wreckers are planning their attack.

Prime; "I will take Shockwave and you will combat the Driller. that species gets disoriented when attacked from multiple fronts. After I'm done with Shockwave I will finish this."

Road: "You got it."

Leadfoot: "Let's tear that beast up!"

Back over at the aftermath of the first battle the Dinobots have captured Frenzy, and he is cuffed as well. Slag is carrying him over his shoulder and throws him next to the still unconscious Coneheads.

Frenzy: 'Hey let me out of here this isn't fair!"

Grimlock: "Tough luck, kid."

Swoop: "Why would we let you go in the first place? You're our enemy."

Frenzy: "What did I ever do to you?"

Sludge: "You called me Sludge's cat an apricot."

Frenzy: "I never said that!"

Grimlock: "You don't even have a cat."

Sludge: "Me Sludge know that but doesn't care."

Grimlock: "Well it's been fun half-pint, but we got some heads to roll."

The Dinobots leave Frenzy there to complain.

Frenzy: (yelling) "Get back here so I can lay the hurt on you guys!"

Grimlock: "Man that guy is such a sore loser."

Slag: "Me Slag wanted to beat him up more."

Grimlock: "He's not worth it. We have much bigger fish to fry."

Swoop: "Speaking of fish I'm getting the hunger for them right now."

Grimlock: "Save it for later. We have a job to do."

Sludge: "You still haven't noticed it yet."

Slag: "What is Sludge blabbing about?"

Grimlock: "It's nothing."

Sludge: "Look around and you will see."

Swoop looks around and finds that Sludge is indeed right.

Swoop: "Where is Snarl?"

Snarl completely dipped on the Dinobots. All the abuse he has taken from his peers has pushed him far enough. He hasn't left the Autobots, but now he goes on his own solo mission.

"It seems the only way to get respect around here is to prove your worth. I'll stop Megatron myself."

Cutting back to the Dinobots Grimlock vents his frustration with the rest of the group.

Grimlock: "This is exactly what we shouldn't do to our friends. Because of all and everyone else he's run off on us."

Slag: "He chose to run away."

Grimlock: 'We're the ones who made that decision easier for him. We need to find him and help the others..... on second thought you need to go now."

Swoop: "What's going on?"

Grimlock: "Just go I can do this myself. Help the others."

Sludge: "Okay."

The other Dinobots leave Grimlock to his mysterious command. Grimlock looks around and speaks.

"Alright, you can come out now. It's just us."

Something jumps down from the tallest building and lands a few yards away from Grimlock. It's Overkill, and he makes a rare appearance in his robot mode.

"How did you know I was there?"

"I could smell you. The stench of death reeks on you."

"I like to think I wear it quite well."

"What do you want, Overkill?"

"You see when I track my prey it usually dies in the end, and you didn't die in our initial encounter."

"I get it. You want to go for round two."

"Precisely."

"Gotta warn you that you will find that we Dinobots don't go down so easily."

"Empty words from a future corpse."

"And big words for a shrimp."

"Funny, but let's see you laugh when this is over."

"You're not going to like the outcome."

-snarls- "There is only one outcome, Dinobot, and it has me feasting upon the insides of your carcass!"

Overkill lunges at Grimlock at such a speed that he was not ready for. Overkill's sharp claws made a scratch across Grimlock's chest. Grimlock may outclass Overkill in strength, skill and endurance, but Overkill is his equal in intelligence and his superior in speed. Using the momentum on the first attack Overkill does a spinning kick to Grimlock's face. He recovers, but not soon enough because Overkill does a handspring that makes Grimlock get knocked down and rolls backwards. He sinks his claws into the ground to recover, and just as Overkill leaps to strike he brings out his shield. The madman is furiously beating on the shield to get through, but Grimlock knocks him aside and on top of a car. Overkill needs a moment to get reoriented, and by the time he does it's just at the right moment where he sees a car thrown by Grimlock hits him in the face. Both Overkill and the car go into a hole from a nearby bakery. Grimlock dusts his hands thinking the battle is over, but soon realizes that Overkill is far from done when his claws punch a hole through the car on top of him. He bursts out, panting heavily, and charges at Grimlock again. Grimlock sighs and steps over to the left and makes a swift slice with his sword, and a huge gash is on the lower left side of Overkill's body. He's bleeding badly, and he puts pressure on the wound to repress as much as he can. Grimlock starts walking away in an act of mercy to his opponent, but instead of walking away Overkill gets angrier and transforms into his Ceratosaur form. He attacks Grimlock by spewing his fire out, but Grimlock uses his shield to protect himself. What Grimlock didn't realize is that Overkill used that for a distraction and the fire is his cover for him to sneak around and bite down on the arm carrying the shield, forcing him to drop it. Grimlock tries to hack at him, but Overkill spews fire at the other arm to make him drop the sword. Grimlock grows tired of this and transforms as well, and it becomes a full scale dinosaur battle. Overkill bites at his legs while Grimlock tries to stomp on him. Overkill eventually gets on top and slashes on his back. Grimlock shakes him loose and whips him hard with his tail, and Overkill bounces on the road. He recovers quickly and they both charge at each other and spew fire at one another. Grimlocks is stronger, and Overkill jumps to attack, but Grimlock's jaws catches his feet, and he smashes him on the ground a few times before tossing him into the window of a building.

It appears the battle is over. Grimlock transforms takes a moment to rest from his injuries. After a minute or two he picks up his sword and walks to his shield. He hears some glass moving above and Overkill jumps at him again with his jaws wide open. It looks like he's aiming to bite Grimlock's head off. In an anime-esque moment where the black bars appear focused on Grimlock's eyes time slows down. Grimlock turns around and thrusts his sword at Overkill, and the swords goes in his mouth, down his neck, through his stomach, and out his rear. Overkill is killed instantly. It's an Overkill kabob. Grimlock finds a pair of human sunglasses and puts them to his face.

"Me Grimlock guesses you could say this was a bit... overkill.....yeahhhh."

Grimlock moves Overkill's body from the sword, but it's still drenched in his blue Energon blood.

(whining) "It's going to take me Grimlock forever to get these stains out!"

Over on Bumblebee and his team's perspective, Mirage, Tomahawk and Sideswipe are attacked by many Decepticons and Bumblebee is forced to let them take the Decepticons themselves. He still has Jolt, Tailgate, and ratchet with him. Jazz recently joined up with them after slaying Buzzsaw. Suddenly Bumblebee slams on the breaks, holding his team back.

Jolt: "What's going on?"

Bee: "Look up there!"

Tailgate: "That's strange. I don't remember any human forecasting any clouds."

Jazz: "Yeah it was supposed to be a clear day"

The cloud the speak of heads their way, but it's not the right color. It's dark brown and descending.

Ratchet: "That's no cloud. That's Cosmic Rust."
