Part 36: My Hero Waspinator

Starscream explains his plans to the Eradicons, and they are more than ready to go.

Scream: "We'll be splitting into teams. You all will travel in groups of two and I'll go it alone."

Vortex: "Are you sure you'll be alright by yourself?"

Scream: "I've been in many battles, so you don't have to worry. Motormaster and Vortex will search the north."

Motor: "I agree with these parameters. Too many people will only slow me down. Vortex and Dead-end are the only ones I can trust."

Drag: "I'm sensing some hostility here."

Scream: "Swindle and Dead-end will search the East."

Dead: "This is torture."

Swindle: "Great news!"

Drag: "Then that means I'm stuck with with the dummy."

Brawl: "What do you mean? Vortex is with Motormaster not you."

Drag: "....Nevermind."

Scream: "You will search the West."

Motor: "Come, Vortex, Optimus Prime awaits."

Vortex: (whispers) "Help me!"

Motormaster transforms and Vortex rides on his trailer. After they are far enough away Brawl speaks up.

Brawl: "Yeah Vortex is going to die."

Drag: "Let's go, big guy."

Dead: "Let's get this torment over with."

Everyone else drives off and Starscream flies in search of his enemies. Meanwhile Ratbat, Ravage and Laserbeak finally locate Soundwave to deliver the news of Buzzsaw's demise. It is soon brought to all remaining Decepticon's attention.

Soundwave: "He served his cause. Any word on the others?"

Ratbat: "No, they all just disappeared."

Ravage: -roar- (They scattered to the wind)

Laser: -caw- (What are your orders?)

Soundwave: "Ravage, Ratbat, return. As for you, Laserbeak, you shall remain fighting all human, Autobot, and Insecticon forces. Now go!"

Laserbeak flies off while Soundwave begins his attack on the Autobots. Back in Chinatown the Coneheads are hiding out with Ramjet recovering from his injuries.

Dirge: "How is your head?"

Ramjet: "Much better. I think I can finally free Thrust."

Thrust: "Finally! My arms were starting to get stiff."

Ramjet breaks Thrust's cuffs and now they can all fly again."

Dirge: "I hate being seen as a low-tier henchman. We are much more important to the grand scheme of the future."

Thrust: "Yeah we need credit."

Ramjet: "You need to do something spectacular to get proper recognition.

Dirge: "Then it's decided then. Let's do something so amazing Megatron will have to acknowledge us!"

The three fly off to parts unknown in an attempt to realize their dreams. In the heart of the city the Aerialbots have combined into Superion and they are destroying the Decepticon motherships. It's easily wiped out two thirds of the armada in the city. The remaining third retreat only to get half of them shot down by the human military. The Insecticon swarm is proving to be a different story. They may be smaller and weaker, but the sheer amount of them make it impossible to make a difference. The drones start clogging his weapons and starts devouring him, and Superion is forced to separate into the Aerialbots. Fireflight and Jetfire transform and are able to clear a path with their flamethrowers.They all fly out and rethink their plans.

Silver: "Alright so that didn't work as planned."

Jetfire: "We almost became Aerialbot cuisine for those weirdos."

Fire: "Got any other ideas, Silverbolt?"

Silver: "Yes I think we need to continue focusing our fire on the motherships. They were heading North last time I saw them I think if we all focus on destroying them we can give the humans and the others a fighting chance.

Sling: "Sounds great man, but we got a problem,"

Silver: "What is it, Slingshot?"

Sling: "Airraid is missing."

Slingshot is right. Somehow Airraid ditched the rest of the team during all the confusion. There is a far more pressing matter. Splicer is driving down the road hoping to find Megatron. He would have normally called, but the Autobot resistance and Shrapnel's bizarre biology is causing interference. As he's driving he sees an Insecticon flying overhead. Splicer mistakes it as a harmless drone and doesn't pay attention. It proves to be a mistake when Kickback lands on his windshield and drives him off course. Splicer crashes into a streetlight. And Kickback walks to his prey. Splicer transforms and readies himself for the inevitable battle.

"What do you want, Kickback?"

"Oh you know. I was in the neighborhood and notices that you weren't dead. And I thought that was wrong, so I decided to fix that."

"I know what you really want."

"Yeah yeah killing Megatron, but I wanted you dead first. I want Megatron to suffer for having us be experimented on. I am nobody's bitch!"

"I won't let you hurt Megatron."

"That's nice, kid. But even if you stop me that doesn't mean that Shrapnel or Bombshell won't succeed."

"If you surrender he might go easy on you."

"Cute, but not my style!"

Kickback fires three gears at Splicer. He breaks the first two and blocks the third. Kickback uses the timing of the third to get close, transform, and kick him the with the grasshopper's hind legs. Splicer bounces across the street. He recovers and hides behind a car. Kickback fires two gears to split the car into thirds. Both miss Splicer.

"Get out here pretty lips so I can fuc... I mean rap.... I mean kill you... yeah that, and absolutely nothing else."

"I don't trust you that much."

"Fine by me."

Kickback jumps and kicks the car away, and attacks Splicer. Splicer rolls to dodge the attacks and slices off Kickback's left arm.

(shrill) "That was my favorite regrown limb!"

Kickback tackles Splicer and they roll along the ground. Splicer eventually kicks Kickback off, and he fires another gear. Splicer wasn't ready this time and it gets him in the right shoulder. Kickback's arm is starting to grow back, so he gets in and starts pummeling Splicer with this fists. Splicer eventually finds his strength again and slices off both of Kickback's arms. He looks at the places where his arms used to be and kangaroo kicks Splicer. He tries to stomp down but Splicer jumps out of the way. With no proper way to defend himself Kickback is completely vulnerable to Splicer's knife gun. He fires about 50 knives all around his body, but none are able to hit his brain or spark. The magnets from the gun pulls all the knives out of Kickback's body, so he starts to bleed out. Now his arms have returned again, and he leaps to attack and manages to break through Splicer's defenses due to his superior speed. Splicer manages to cut off all four of Kickback's limbs, but not before Kickback fires another gear. Splicer thinks Kickback missed, but the gear hits a stoplight that crashes on Splicer's head, temporarily making his vision static. The limbless Kickback rolls around waiting for something to grow back. First is his right arm, and he crawls over to the dizzy Splicer. The clawed appendages that hand over Kickback's head stab Splicer in the knee. Splicer frantically cuts them off and retreats back. Kickback's left leg has regrown, and he hops along trying to fight. He eventually gets all his limbs back and the battle continues for another five minutes. During that time there is a massive pile of Kickback's limbs. Splicer is beginning to understand that no matter what he does to Kickback he will just heal up and grow back everything. He has to cut off his head to end this. Splicer attacks Kickback again, but Kickback transforms and rams him into a building's wall. He grinds Splicer up the building and bites his shoulder. Splicer stabs Kickback in the insect form's eye, and it forces Kickback to let him go. Splicer fires his triple grenade sniper rifle right into Kickback, and it blows off both of his wings and makes him fall. Kickback recover and fires another gear into Splicer, and both of his apendages stabs him in both clavicles. He defeats Splicer by throwing him across the street. Kickback is ready to kill his foe.

"You were too nice, you decided to try to kill me when it was too late. Though if it is any consolation that hurt like hell."

Kickback is ready to fire a gear into Splicer's head, but something zips past his head and lands beneath his feet. It's some black pinecone looking thing.

Kickback: (looking around) "What now?"

The pinecone explodes with Kickback caught in the blast. It turns out it was a grenade. Kickback lands face-first on the street, but that doesn't seem to bother him that much.

Kickback: "I'm face down with someone beating my ass. Oh my this must really be Tuesday!"

Splicer: (grossed out) "Stop that!"

Kickback: "So who did that? Show yourself!"

Something flies down, and at first Kickback thinks it's one of his friends, but to both he and Splicer's amazement it is none other than Waspinator.

Splicer: "Waspinator!"

Wasp: "Nearest elementary school is three miles East. You should go there instead."

Kickback: (rubbing his hands) "Oh I'll be sure to pay the kiddies a visit, but now this is happening. Why interrupt me, Waspinator? We're insects too. We're like family."

Wasp: "Waspinator asked that the very first time you showed up to our base. You said we weren't so Waspinator chose his side."

Splicer: "He came to rescue me."

Wasp: "Splicer was right, he is all Waspinator has, and he won't let some slimy Insecticon hurt his friend!"

Kickback: "Nobody calls me slimy as an insult!"

Kickback comes to attack but Splicer fires lasers out of his eyes and knocks Kickback down. He gets to Waspinator and tears off his right arm, but Waspinator grabs his arm back and beats Kickback senseless with it. He fires a grenade to blow him back, and Kickback recovers to slice Waspinator to pieces with his gears.

Kickback: "Take that!"

Waspinator reforms in front of Kickback, and his confidence drops significantly.

Wasp: "Waspinator can regenerate too, but he can't die."

Kickback: "Then I'll just have to throw all your parts far enough away so I can kill your friend quickly."

Splicer: "Not happening."

Kickback now has to deal with both Splicer and Waspinator attacking him. Waspinator fires the scales from his wings into Kickback's body, and Kickback fires a gear that makes Splicer fall. Waspinator transforms and rams into Kickback, but Kickback's appendages slice off Waspinator's head. Splicer fires both his knives and his grenades into Kickback, and he tries to blow his head off. Kickback catches Splicer's hands and they are in an arm lock. Kickback is overpowering Splicer, but Splicer moves his arm blades into the right position and they stab right through Kickback's hands. He screams in agony while Splicer crouches down and cuts off his left leg. Waspinator is reformed and comes behind him, kicking him down. He tears off one of Kickback's arms, and beats his head in with it. He steps hard on his back, nearly breaking it. He also starts breaking the remaining arm.

Kickback: (in pain) "My arm isn't supposed to bend this way, not supposed to bend this way (Waspinator breaks it) NOW IT DOES!"

Waspinator tears that off and blasts off his remaining leg to end the fight.

Wasp: "Skywarp, if you can hear Waspinator we need a ground bridge."

Skywarp opens a ground bridge and tosses the limbless Kickback into a containment cell. Kickback is not pleased with the outcome.

Kickback: (enraged) "I'll get my revenge just you wait! You can't contain an Insecticon for long!"

Waspinator returns to help the injured Splicer.

"You're hurt."

"I'll be fine, thanks for saving me."

"Stick with Waspinator. It will only get more dangerous from here."

"We need to warn Megatron about Starscream. He's alive."

"Really? Then we have no time to waste."

The two drive off to find Megatron. Though there are still two Insecticons that are not yet beaten, there is still plenty of surprises still in store.
