Part 44: A Chance Encounter

The Aerialbots all fly together when they collectively get an uneasy feeling.

Jetfire: "That ain't good."

Sling: "I've only felt this once before."

Silver: "This is the feeling we get when one of dies."

Fire: "Well we're all here except for one."

Sling: "Then that must mean...."

Silver: "Airraid is dead."

Jetfire: "So.... anyone else not missing him?"

Sling: "I'm not."

Fire: "It was his fault he isn't alive anymore, baby."

Silver: "Look I know he wasn't that much of a team player, but he was still one of us."

Sling: "Barely."

Jetfire: "He was always looking out for himself."

Skydive and Stratosphere nod in agreement.

Fire: "This is some pretty bad news for us. Now Superion only has one arm."

Silver: "Which is why I'm incorporating the buddy system. Skydive and Stratosphere are an obvious pick, and I will go with Fireflight as my go-to partner."

Jetfire: "So that leaves me with the kid? Oh wonderful."

Sling: "Hey I'm a team player."

Jetfire: "I guess you're better than Airraid and Breakaway. Just try and keep up."

Sling: "You got it."

Silver: "So let this be a friendly reminder to everyone here. If you try to be a bigshot and go it alone you will die. Understood?"

Everyone else nods their head in understanding.

Silver: "I know we're crippled as a team, but we can't stop fighting. One arm or no arms Superion will always save the day."

Fire: "He's right, let's show them what a real combiner team can do!"

While all the remaining Aerialbots fly off we return to the scene of the Allspark accident. Emmett of course died the moment the car went on top of him, and everyone else from what it looks like the others aren't faring so well either. Savoy has so much head trauma from the impact that he fades in and out of consciousness before finally dying. Silas actually makes it out of the van, but he is bruised up, has a broken arm, and has two deep cuts on his face. The first starts from the temple of the left side of his head and goes all the way down to the neck. The second goes from the right side of his nose and goes across and arcs down until it almost connects to the upper left corner of his lips. He looks for Attinger, and finds that he is still alive, but that sure doesn't look like it's going to last for much longer. There is a ton of glass embedded in his body, and one of the windshield wipers has impaled him near the heart. Silas tries to get him off, but Attinger pushes his hand away.

(weakly) "No, it's no use. My journey ends here."

(pleading) "Come on you can't just give up now. We have so much to accomplish with your vision."

"My vision means nothing if there is nobody to continue it."

"What are you saying?"

"I'm going to go any moment, and wit that I'm carrying the torch to you. You will now run MECH and all of its assets."

"I'm honored, but I'm not the right man for the job."

"You are the only man for the job. I planned this from the start, but not so soon."
