Part 46: Round Infinity

With everything that has happened the timeline has been set to where the opening scene of the story began with a depressed Optimus walking toward Megatron. He of course is being slowly followed by Motormaster and the others. From this point on the flashbacks are over. Everything that happens now is in real time. The ghosts of Fearswoop and Terradive find Megatron and tail him. They also see Optimus has transformed. He is driving to Megatron at a rather fast pace.

"My money's on Optimus."

"Why would you ever side against Megatron?"

"Optimus looks pissed."

"How can you tell?

"He's got that road rage going on."

"He does seem upset."

"And you're going to be owing me ghost money."

"We shall see my fiery companion. We shall sea!"

"I saw what you did there!"

Megatron hears Optimus behind him, and smiles in satisfaction knowing that his longtime enemy has once again come to face him. To his surprise Optimus swerves around in the other direction. He realizes too late that is was a ploy, and Optimus's trailer smacks Megatron in the face hard enough to knock him down. Optimus transforms with boths swords out at the start.

(wiping his mouth) "You certainly have quite the openings Optimus."

"I'm done, Megatron. You've gone too far this time. I warned you to leave this planet alone, and now so many have lost their lives because of your selfish desires."

"Necessary sacrifices for the sake of progress. Don't you remember when you once agreed with that idea?"

"That was long ago. I've changed since then."

"Maybe not as much as you'd like to believe."

"It's enough to differentiate myself from you. Enough to know that what you've done is inexcusable."

"History is written by the victor. I'll make sure the scribes will put down enough justification for it."

"I'm done holding back. You're not going to survive this encounter."

"You'll die trying."

"And If I die I'll be sure that you're going will me."

The two engage once more in their seemingly endless fights. It's round infinity as Optimus makes the first attack with his swords, and one grazes Megatron's shoulder. Megatron pulls out his shotgun and starts to fire. Optimus uppercuts the gun before it fires so it misses. Megatron swings the gun around and Optimus ducks. Then he immediately follows with an uppercut. Optimus goes for a left hook but Megatron dodges. He grabs Optimus by the face and runs him into a wall. The downed Optimus kicks Megatron away and uses the forward momentum to roll into him. Optimus punches away, and during the beatdown Megatron grabs one of Optimus's arms and rams his head into the Prime's. Megatron overpowers Optimus and picks him up throws him into a nearby bus, and while he's down he kicks him into it. Megatron peeks inside and gets shot down. Optimus bursts out and kicks Megatron right in the chin. He punches him three times and gets him down on one knee. He tries to do a finishing punch but Megatron grabs his arm and throws him over his shoulder. Despite recovering Optimus is unable to avoid a shot from the tanker gun that grazes his left side. Optimus is now losing when Megatron knees him in the stomach. He punches him down and kicks him in the stomach repeatedly. it seems that the fight with Splicer and Waspinator did more damage to him that he realizes. Instead of finishing him off Megatron can't help but gloat.

Megatron: (triumphant) "I've waited far too long to end this. Now after all these years there will finally be a winner, and it's going to be me!"

Terra: "I believe you're going to owe me some ghost money now."

Fear: 'Whatever man. You still owe me that fifty from yesterday."

Terra: "I don't recall."

Fear: "I'd figure you'd say that."

Megatron: "Now to end this once and for all!"

Megatron has his shotgun directly pointing at the back of Optimus's head. He is a about to pull the trigger, but now the real battle begins. Two missiles hit Megatron directly in the back, and they do some moderate damage to him. A jet engine is heard, and out of the sky falls Starscream. He's finally making his move.

Fear: "Oh the Starscream upset!"

Terra: "Well no money for me."

Megatron: "Starscream... I'd say I'm surprised that you're alive but at this rate I accept it."

Scream: "I'm disappointed in both of you. You're both so weak."

Megatron: "Oh really Starscream? Last time you faced me you had a hole in your chest."

Scream: "And your shoddy marksmanship is why I'm here now."

Prime: "Why are you here, Starscream?"

Scream: "Isn't it obvious? I'm here to kill the both of you."

Megatron: "By yourself?"

Prime: "I'm warning you to leave now. Let me defeat Megatron and we can work something out. I don't want to fight you."

Scream: "But I want to fight you. I have a revenge to carry out, and you're the reason why I'm doing it."

Prime: "Why would you want to kill me? I've done nothing to you."

Scream: "Oh but that's where you're wrong. I hate you for the exact same reason."

Prime: "I have to know what I've done so I can understand."

Megatron: "You know what Starscream? I'll finally listen to you for once. I always thought that you were just another power hungry Decepticon like the others. Your attempts made you the second closest to succeeding. Now I see that there is so much more to this hatred than I gave you credit for. So tell us, why is it you hate us so much?"

Starscream's emotions seem to be coming to the surface.

Scream: (trembling) "You really want to know why? Very well. I'll tell you."
