Chapter 42

TW: Mention of possible rape.

It had been three days since the Rosalie incident. Enzo kept on telling me how he really hadn't had any contact with her in the past five years, and I kept on smiling and telling him that I trusted him. After everything we had been through, I couldn't imagine not trusting or believing him, at the end of the day I never had any reason not to.

"She just got too attached, I don't know... It was just a fl-" Enzo continued as I rolled my eyes for the thousandth time, but immediately put my finger on his lips, before he could say the word 'fling'. I knew that Enzo wasn't a saint, that he didn't save himself for me or whatever but I didn't need to have a confirmation and mental picture of whatever they had done together. 

"I do not need the details Enzo." I said raising an eyebrow and he just gave me an apologetic smile, scratching the back of his neck. I rolled my eyes playfully at his cute face and he instantly brought me closer to him, his hands resting on my waist. 

"Anyway, all this to say that she will not be bothering us anymore, so you don't have to worry about her coming over while I'm gone." he said, his hands gently cupping my face, as I tried not to pout at the fact that he was leaving. We hadn't been separated ever since coming back from Hawaii, I was putting on a brave face but deep down it kinda hurt.

"James will be here with you, because I really need Matteo with me, but I'll try to come back as soon as possible. Also Mila should be back from college later today or tomorrow for her two week holidays." he tells me, holding me even closer. Mila, it had been so long since I had seen her, we texted occasionally and I was happy to know that she would be home soon. She had started college, Princeton to be exact, and we were really proud of her. 

"I'll miss you so much." I tell him, trying to keep a smile on my face, he gently brushed his thumb across my cheek and leaned in, claiming my lips with one of his feather like kisses. I went on my tip toes and placed my hands behind his neck deepening the kiss. 

"These are going to be the longest three days ever." he said, growling and nuzzling his face in the crook of my neck. I chuckled since his stubble was tickling me and instantly Enzo started to kiss my neck, making me laugh even more.

"Damn bambina, I'm going to miss you so much." he said again, and I slowly pulled away, knowing that he would never leave if we stayed this close, in each others' embrace.

"You better go before Matteo pops the vein in his head." I said laughing, as I looked behind Enzo to see Matteo looking at his watch again and getting clearly impatient. 

"Yeah, could've fooled me in thinking he was actually the boss." he said snorting and rolling his eyes. He kissed me one last time and then with a deep sigh he turned around and made his way towards the SUV that was waiting for him. 

"I love you!" I said one last time, and saw him smiling, as his car drove down the driveway. 

"Ready for the Harry Potter Marathon?" I heard James ask as he came beside me, I looked over my shoulder and nodded smiling. James and I had grown to be quite good friends and close, we earned the nickname 'double-trouble', go figure out why... probably the pranks.. Anyway I knew that I could count on James to make Enzo's absence bearable. 

"Hell yeah!" I said, as I made my way inside and Nugget instantly followed us in the kitchen, as we prepared all the snacks that we were going to have during our HP marathon. As soon as we had everything we made our way towards the cinema room, and got comfortable, Nugget laying in between us.

My phone buzzed and saw that Enzo had sent me a message saying that he was in his private jet, they were about to take off and that he loved me. I replied that I loved him too and wished him a nice trip, I then snuggled more into my baby Nugget.
