I woke up at around 3 a.m., thirsty as hell. I looked beside me and Enzo was snuggled against me. His face hidden in the crook of my neck, his arms wrapped around my frame, I couldn't help the smile on my face once I thought back to what we had done a couple of hours back.

I slowly got up from the bed, not waking Enzo up and saw that neither of us had water on our bedside table. I put on my slippers and slowly walked around the bed to the door, I unlocked it and made my way downstairs, in my pyjamas, consisting of a large black t-shirt of Enzo's and my rainbow sleeping shorts.

Nuggie got up as soon as he heard, me being his happy puppy self and jumping around my feet trying to get my attention. Which worked since I picked him up and held him like a baby in my arms, giving him kisses on his furry head.

As soon as I arrived in the kitchen, I turned on the light, and almost screamed when I saw a body slumped on a chair at the kitchen island. It was Matteo, shirtless with a pair of sweatpants on, a bottle of whisky, its content long gone and hair completely dishevelled.

"You scared the crap out of me." I laughed nervously, putting nugget down and making my way towards the fridge, taking out two bottles, knowing that Enzo would also be thirsty when he'd wake up. Matteo stayed silent. I closed the fridge door, and turned around leaning on it, looking at Matteo.

"Are you okay Matty?" I asked him, concerned, I had never seen him like that. He looked so tired, bags under his eyes, and the stench of alcohol coming from him wasn't helping. He didn't reply, just smiled a me, but not his usual smile, he smirked.

"Nop." he said popping the p. As I was about to say something he cut me off.

"Shouldn't you be in your knights arms sleeping peacefully, after the...... gym session you both had." he said bitterly, I frowned, I couldn't take anything he was saying to heart, he was visibly drunk, and his inhibition was non existent. I managed to control the blush on my face, knowing that if he had heard us, probably other people around the house had too.

"Matty-" I started, not liking him this way, my brows still furrowed.

"Don't Matty me-" he said chuckling bitterly.

"God, if only I had seen you first." he mumbled, I froze, not wanting to understand what he was saying.

"But no, you had to go on and fall in love with my best friend. I never would've treated you the way he did before you left for Hawaii. Part of me wished that once we would have found you, that you would want nothing to do with him anymore, and when I saw you at the beach with tha- that guy, cazzo, I wanted to kiss you so bad, you looked so freaking good." he continued, I was dumbfounded, Matteo was like a brother to me, I loved him so much, but not in the way he was describing what he felt for me. I stayed rooted in place, not longer leaning on the fridge, but up straight with my heart thumping in my chest.
