The Institute for Mianite Arts

Chapter 1: Arrival

Lucas, Izzy, Iain, Autumn, Alee, and Edward approached the several story building that sprawled across many acres. In fact the single building appeared to be the size of a small city. The small group entered the building and stopped in the grand entryway. Three statues blocked their path, and between them a man. The statues depicted the three gods, Mianite on the left, Ianite in the middle, and Dianite on the right. The man was old and wore a black cloak, as the group approached he called out to them. "Halt, For you may not pass until you take the test. It is a test of strength and will, You will be plunged into the depths your own minds were you will chose a god." The man raised his hand and the group was plunged into darkness to find their own answers.

LUCAS.

Lucas stumbled through the darkness, he saw a light, it flickered, it was what looked like fire? A figure was standing in the fire, it was, himself? Lucas raised a hand towards himself and the flames disappeared. Soon he was swimming, no he was drowning in blood? As his life faded away so did the dream, and he awoke.

IZZY.

Izzy ran through a forest, there were wolves chasing her, they would eat her, they would catch her, oh if only she could get the big tree towering before her, the tree was magnificent, flowering with red and blue flowers, and the tree its self, was purple. She made it to the tree and hurried up, the wolves biting at her feet, but she got away into the tree. At the top was a light, as she neared it all faded away, and she awoke.

IAIN.

Iain was in a ocean and it was turning red, a giant heart hung above him pulsing and with each shake it released more blood and the water became more red and sinister. Something swam toward him, it was a snake, he looked up and a dragon circled the heart. He looked down and the snake was rushing towards him, jaws open, ready to eat him. It leaped out of the bloody water and swallowed him. As the darkness enclosed him, he awoke.

AUTUMN.

Autumn was in a field of flowers, they were roses. As she moved they cut into her dress and legs. There was a lake ahead of her, if she ran into the lake she could swim away from the flowers. When she neared the lake, it rose up and washed the roses away. The sun shined through the water creating purple lines in the water. She swam to the surface and saw a face, as it faded so did the rest of the world and she woke up.

ALEE.

Alee was in her room and there with her was a lady, dressed in purple. The lady spoke to her, "Alee you are special, your heart is not yet corrupted by the tyranny that is mankind. The tasks ahead will challenge you but I have faith. Free me and I will bless this world once more." The lady faded away and Alee woke up with the voice still in her head.

EDWARD.

Edward, was in a blank room, no walls, no window. Wherever he looked was white, when he touched the wall it became blue. He concentrated, now it was green. He envisioned a window and it came. Now chairs and tables. oddly, a vase with a purple flower appeared, and lastly a door which he opened and with it he awoke.

As the party awoke they found the man smiling, he spoke again "You have all passed now, pick a door." he gestured to the doors under the statue. "I believe you all know which one." With that he disappeared and the party wander over to the doors.
