Chapter 73: Izzy's Mid- Purge: The Dragon and the Soldier

We spawned into the Purge Arena and the Mid- Purge began. Izzy glanced over to where Eddie was and saw him turn and run into the forest without giving her a glance. Not wasting any time is he, she thought. She turned back and took out her bow and started running around looking for players. She was walking down one of the side paths when she spotted a Dianitee walking past with A Rapier in hand. Izzy notched an arrow and took aim. She let the arrow loose but the Dianitee was gone. Suddenly she heard a rustling from her left. Notching an arrow as quickly as she could she spun around and let it loose just in time to catch the Dianitee as he was running at her. He fell on the ground ,dead, with the arrow through his Armored chest. She pulled the arrow from his chest and notched it again. She walked off just as he disappeared into white.

Izzy walked for a couple minutes when she heard A loud bang echo through the woods and immediately thought of Eddie and wondered if he was doing all right. She really did love him and wanted to stay with him as long possible. She put aside her thoughts and kept walking. After walking for a good thirty minutes she heard another bang and saw in the scoreboard that the Epic hero's from Dianite and Mianite had been killed. She also found a person , it was a mianitee. The Mianitee was seriously under prepared and she killed her easily.

After twenty more minutes she saw Jazlyn and Alyssa. They out numbered her however so she didn't shoot. Izzy followed them for some time before She saw Jake come and Kill Alyssa. Jake wasn't much of a threat and she readied herself to shoot at Jazlyn. Jake ran off at a figure in the distance. Jazlyn was about to follow but Izzy shot her arrow.. And missed. Jazlyn turned and charged Izzy instead. Izzy notched another arrow very quickly and fired this time hitting Jazlyn in the lower abdomen which made her stagger slightly. She recovered and charged again but Izzy had already got another arrow ready. Firing she killed Jazlyn and heard another Loud Bang , but this time it was different and closer. A horn sounded ending the purge and Eddie emerged holding a smoking pistol. He holstered it and hugged Izzy. Giving her a kiss.

" I love you" he told her.

She replied likewise. they where transported back to the Dine - at - Nite, where they encountered a cheering mass of Ianitees. The Dianitees were smiling and Patting some of the Ianitees on the back. Good sports all. The mianitees where quite the opposite. They were all salty . Mianite and Dianite made congratulatory speeches. Praising Eddie on his keen eye and good shot. So he was the one making those loud bangs. Izzy should have known. They also co gratulated Izzy on her skill as an archer. She could feel herself smiling. After everyone had settled down the gods took them into separate rooms to grant them their wishes that they had earned for winning.

Eddie, always the gentleman, Insisted that Izzy go first, giving her a little kiss. Izzy entered the room. It was large with high ceilings And gold plated floors. Dianite was there . Apparently Mianite had other business to attend to (probably just very salty).

" Greetings Dragon Tamer" Dianite smiled.

" Hello " Izzy said in her sort of posh,British accent. Dianite motioned for her to sit in one of the red , velvet chairs. She did and sat up tall, which wasn't very hard for her sense she was 5'7", taller than most of her friends. Eddie was 5'8" so at least her own boyfriend was taller than her.

" Congratulations Dragon Tamer, do you know what you will wish for? Dianite Asked . Izzy shook her head, she didn't at all think she would win, She wasn't prepared. " Hmmn, Well Dragon Tamer. Perhaps you would like to wish for something related to your dragon tamer training" He said. Izzy thought about it and nodded. " Perhaps," Dianite continued ," every Dragon Tamer needs ... A Dragon" He waved his hands and a blue and Red egg appeared. It was large , obviously a Dragon egg. Izzy gasped.

" Thank you! Thank you so very much sir. " Izzy said, at loss for words. Dianite chuckled.

" No problem young Dragon Tamer." Dianite said. Izzy took the egg and thanked him again. Then She turned and started walking towards the door. Before Dianite stopped her.

" Oh , and Izzy. " He smiled " I'd want to stick around behind that door. I have a feeling your going to want to hear what your ..ahh.. Special friend, asks for." He smiled.

" Alright" Izzy walked out . Eddie was there waiting.

" Woaah , you got a dragon egg .. COOOL" he said enthusiastically. Izzy laughed and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He smiled and kissed back. "My turn " Eddie said and walked in. Izzy put her ear to the door and listened in to the conversation. It went like this:

Dianite: Welcome And congratulatio.....* Eddie interrupts*

Eddie: Cut the crap dianite. We are not here for small talk( he sounded tense and worried) So tell me. How is it in the front.

Dianite : * his voice changed to a deeper tenser speak* Straight to the point are we, Mr. Ramirez?( Eddie didnt say anything, I presume he nodded.) Very well then. There is fierce fighting Around Ianites capital ,Dagrun. I believe that my brother is trying to capture the city in order to end Ianite involvement in the war.

Eddie: Shit. If Dagrun is captured the war is over. We lose. ( he said sounding a little angry.)

Dianite: Yes, its not a very good situation. I've decided to send most of my Army to defend the city. And your Admiral, Spark Plug, has deployed the Land Corps alongside my Army to defend the city at all costs.

Eddie: Shit.. Sir how many are expected to die in the battle.

Dianite: ( taking on a grim tone) the casualties are expected to surpass a million.

*long moment of silence*

Eddie:(breaking the silence) Sir I know what I'm going to ask for now.

Dianite: what is that?

Eddie: Sir... I'd like to enlist in the Ianite Navy as a Land Corps soldier... I want to help in the defense of the major city of Dagrun.

Dianite:( sounding shocked and a bit angered) No! Students are not allowed to fight in the war it is the rul..

Eddie :* cutting him off again* SIR. That is my wish ,it is not against the rules if wish granting or anything. You are obliged to grant it.

Dianite: are you threatening me b...

Eddie: *cutting him off AGAIN* Sir, please. It is my only wish.

Dianite:( reluctantly) Fine. I will grant you your wish. You are to leave for Ianite Land Corps training tomorrow. Pack only the necessary items and nothing else.

Eddie: Yes sir. Thank you sir I ....

Izzy didn't hear the end of the conversation. She picked up her dragon egg and ran off crying. She got to her room and plopped on the bed and cried. She hugged the dragon egg, the only good thing to come out of today , and cried herself to sleep. Tomorrow would be a new day, and a day without Eddie.
