ARIKA

Going out with the dragon brothers was a new experience for me. It was a good break from the tension in the palace. I think there's something in the air of the Cardinal House always to keep everyone on their toes and nervous. There was animosity in the air of that place, and it was hard to ignore.

Leaving that place felt so much better, even for a brief period. I tried to enjoy my time with the brothers after having the most intense moment with them. Well... it shook me from the inside, and it might not have completely broken me, but it felt like something had suddenly shifted inside me.

I couldn't explain exactly what it was, but I couldn't hold their gazes for long.

As we ate and drank, Zorge continued to stroke his hand over my exposed thigh while Radrox continued to study me with his narrowed eyes. I felt heated due to both of them, but I tried to act normally.

However, no matter what, it couldn't be denied that there was some tension between the brothers and I. The two of them almost made me submit this morning, but... I wasn't the one to give up so easily. They might have broken me, but only partially. I still had a lot of fights and naughtiness left in me, and I could tell that Radrox could sense it.

He'd been silent most of the time here, studying me with his pensive eyes. I clenched my jaw and thighs, feeling annoyed and heated under his gaze. I hated that he could almost read me like a book.

I needed to come up with something new.

"Where are we going next?" I asked as we almost finished the meal. It was nothing like the food we humans ate. Usually, we had a staple and side dishes to go with it. But things were different here. The staple food was meat, and so were the sides. Only the varieties differed.

I liked the meat pies with crispy meat crust. But I wouldn't say I enjoyed the rest. Most of the dishes had raw meat, and I knew better than to put my life at risk by eating the raw meat of some mythical creatures. Even though Zorge urged me to try other dishes, I steered clear of them.

I craved the strange cake-like things I had with Ivret last night. It was a shame I'd forgotten their names. I'd need to ask Ivret about them later.

"Where do you want to go?" Radrox asked while Zorge downed a whole jug of fermented Basilisk blood in one go. Just thinking about that drink soured my mouth. Even after having a full meal, its horrible taste lingered in my mouth.

"Do I get to choose?" I asked. I could tell that Radrox was trying to judge how much heat I was still left with. He narrowed his eyes at me while Zorge dug his fingers into my thighs, reminding me that he could sense my emotions. I was entirely bare for both of them, which somewhat frustrated me.

"Where would you go if we let you choose?" Radrox asked.

"That depends if you'll take me there,"

Instantly, his eyes darkened. "I want to return to the sea. I want to be back on my ship again. I haven't seen it in months," I told them honestly. I missed the sea and being a pirate more than ever.

"Your ship?" Zorge breathed.

"Yes, I have a ship I worked hard for. I still don't remember where it's docked. I hope it's safe and no one has found it. It's my home," I told them. Something flickered in Radrox's eyes, but it was gone before I could read it.

"Let's go," Radrox said, getting up. "We need to return before nightfall,"

"Yeah," Zorge sighed. I knew what they were talking about— reporting to their Commission Head. It seemed like they'd be out for the night, leaving me alone with Ivret.

Zorge left some coins on the table before we headed out. He'd made me wear one of his old cloaks with a huge hood to hide my face and features as much as possible while we were out there. But that didn't stop me from sneaking a few looks here and there to observe the city around me.

It was a beautiful place, not much different from what humans have, but the buildings and architecture differed. There were a lot of floating structures, but we didn't go into any of them. Dragons of different shapes, sizes and colours surrounded us.

I was surprised to find some dragons with wings, even in their human form. Some even had four wings. It was all fascinating to me.

We hopped in and out of a few shops as the brothers bought the things they needed before finally stopping at a dress shop for me. I didn't own or wear many dresses before. Piracy was more efficient in pants, but I didn't mind trying out new dresses.

The dragon ladies wore beautiful dresses and cloaks here, but I was surprised to find most dresses almost translucent especially the chest area.

I got to try on a couple of dresses, and they were beautiful. The fabric resembled something between silk and satin... yet it was see-through and soft. It didn't wrinkle and had a lovely sheen to it. There was some enchantment to the dresses because they seemed to fit me on their own without needing any alterations.

The brothers watched me heatedly as I tried some dresses and showed them. I knew they were enjoying it, judging by their changing eye colour. I twirled in my dresses for them, puffing my chest to bother them even more, and I knew it was working on them.

They were getting restless to leave, already undressing me with their eyes. The only reason why none of the brothers touched me was because we were out in public. However, I knew things would be different once we'd be alone again.

They bought me almost all the dresses I had tried— which were more than a dozen, along with a couple of beautiful yet heavy fur cloaks and other things I might need.

I had a wonderful day with them, but our spirits somewhat sank when it was time to return to that cursed place.
