Classification: Book Two Lost Chapter

Explanation: This scrapped storyline takes place during  Age of Ultron right after the avengers land at Clint's house and meet his family. This is hard for Y/N to see because of the miscarriage and her desperate desire to start a family with Steve. Both of them were hit with visions by Wanda during the previous battle. Here we go into Steve's. It is kinda sloppy and cut off but that's what this little project is about

AGE OF ULTRON CONTINUED

Clint had a beautiful farm and family. His wife's baby bump caught my eye and sent me back to the nightmarish vision that witch plagued me with. I couldn't take it anymore so I slipped outside hopefully unnoticed. I sat on the green lawn with my knees pulled to my chest. However hard I tried I couldn't stop the stinging tears from cascading down my rosy cheeks.

I stared at the quite beautiful sunrise breathing in the sweet fragrance of the grass. I kept my gauze though thunderous boots flew down the porch steps next to me. Thor came into view, and I heard Steve's voice behind me. Soon enough Thor left without a trace. I couldn't hear Steve make his way back to the front door then turn around noticing me. His steps got quieter as he tiptoed back down.

"(Y/n)?" He whispered putting his hand on my shoulder.

"I saw them head for Bruce, so I tried to stop them and then..." I trailed off wiping a couple of tears away.

"That's not your fault (y/n)," he sat beside me but still giving me space.

"Did she get you too?" I looked over not quite able to look him in the eye.

"Yeah," he looked into the sunset which made his eyes glow, "she did." The grass danced as a breeze swooped in.

"It was like I had been pulled back," he broke the long silence.

"Pulled back to what?"

"The war," Steve screwed his eyes shut, "well just after it ended I guess. Everyone was laughing and dancing, and just seemed to be having a hell of a time. But it felt so wrong, I didn't belong there." He paused for a moment and took a deep breath. "As I looked around the room, with all those people celebrating, I just wanted to run. It was too overwhelming, all the camera flashes, wine, and loud music, it was all too much." He paused again, and shook his head as if trying to escape the image. "Then it all went quiet and there was Peggy, asking me to dance."

My jaw tightened at his words.

"And maybe I would have liked to see her standing there four years ago, but... all that was going through my mind was how much I wanted to be back home with you." He looked over at me with sad eyes.

"The scary part was that it felt like I had just woken up from a dream. This, you, our life all felt like a dream. It was if I had woken up to a reality that wasn't meant for me anymore," his eyes dropped and silence sat over us for a long time.

I couldn't imagine the shock that vision must've caused him. Then I reached for his hand and squeezed it tightly. He looked over at me and I tried the best I could go offer him a reassuring smile.

"You can talk to me about yours too," he squeezed my hand back.

"No!" I answered too fast. "I don't wanna talk about it, I can't..." I shook my head.

"You don't want to know Steve," I whispered begging him to let me spare him from hell once again.

"Hey, that's okay. Just know I'm here if you do." With that Steve kissed my temple, gave my hand one last squeeze and walked off in the direction of the Quinn jet. After he left I continued sitting on the grass staring into the sunset as if my life depended on it.

But after awhile Clint came outside searching for those of us who had snuck off.

"(Y/n)," he called from the porch, "the shower's free if you'd like to claim it next."

I jumped at the offer ready to wash the memories of yesterday away.
