Classification: Book Two Lost Chapter

Explanation: Jumping right to Civil War. Y/N has given birth to a beautiful baby girl, Sarah Eleanor Rogers (her first name is of course a call back to Steve's mom), they call her Ellie. Basically they are navigating having a new born, being on the avengers... and eventually the Sokovia Accords.

Early April 2016

Steve was packing to leave, the team had just caught a big break in the Rumlow case, and if they didn't move now who knows when he would show up next. I was still a somewhat hormonal mess so when he told me I broke down and begged for him not to leave but once my reasonable side came out I was practically pushing him out the door.

"Are you sure you're going to be okay," he knotted his brows stopping short of the door.

"I- We'll be fine Steve," I smiled softly brushing stray hairs out of our daughter's bright blue eyes, just like her daddy. Ellie looked up at him and cooed softly, "Here," I carefully handed her off placing her in his strong arms.

"You be good for mama okay? Don't keep her up all night like you have been," the way he looked at her melted my heart. Just as Steve placed a soft kiss on her tiny forehead a little smile danced over her precious face. "Oh don't do that! You make it so much harder to leave," he breathed out softly while handing her back off to me.

"I love you," I whispered holding back tears because if he saw me cry he would never go.

"I love you too," he leaned down pressing his lips against mine one last time. "I'll be back as soon as possible," he waved as he headed to his new, more family-oriented, truck. Soon he was gone from my view, off to stop another bad guy.

About three days later at an odd time of night, Steve called.

"(Y/n)? We messed up," his rough tired voice left me wondering what he meant.

"How?" I questioned rubbing my eyes. I listened as he painted the picture for me. I could imagine the scene perfectly, Rumlow about to blow himself, Steve, and anyone around him sky-high until Wanda delays the explosion only long enough to get it halfway up a nearby building before she loses her hold on it. "Is Wanda okay?"

"Shaken, to say the least," he sighed.

"Maybe she should stay with us for a bit," I offered in hopes we could give her a somewhat safe haven. "There's bound to be tons of press on this. I just don't want her to feel alone, you know?"

"Yeah. I'll ask," she was too young for the whole world to blame her for an accident. "I love you," he whispered sweetly into the phone.

"I love you too," with that the call ended and I spent a couple of hours staring into oblivion.

One month later: May 2016

Steve and I were headed up to the compound because Tony was supposed to be getting back today and I thought I would let the team visit with Ellie. When we got inside the news was playing on every single tv echoing the deviation in Lagos.

"Friday could you please turn off the TV's," Steve plead the invisible AI.

"Of course Captain," though most of the screens went black we could still hear the faint sound of a news broadcaster retelling the scene.

"Wanda," I whispered looking up with worried eyes at him while settling the baby carrier on the floor to give my arm a break.

"Give me a minute," he ran off like a big brother going to comfort his little sister. I picked the carrier back up and wandered around till I found Sam and Natasha.
