Hazel...

Her eyes snapped open.

An abyss of endless space surrounded her, stretching in every direction. She noticed she wasn't floating. But she wasn't falling, either.

Beneath her feet, a shimmering path extended into the void, the faintest ripples of light flickering beneath her steps. She turned, searching for something—anything—that made sense. Her breath came fast, her pulse hammering against her ribs.

This wasn't real. And yet, it felt as real as anything she had ever experienced.

A voice—deep, resounding, woven into the very fabric of existence—called for her attention again.

My chosen warrior...

Hazel's breath hitched. The sound wasn't just in her ears or around her; it was inside her, filling every corner of her being. She spun, scanning the darkness for its source. "Hello?"

Hello, little soldier.

A presence flared to life before her. A sphere of light, brilliant and pulsating, hovered just beyond her reach. It radiated warmth, not heat, but something deeper—something that sank into her bones and wrapped around her soul. It knew her. It had always known her.

Hazel fell to one knee, her head bowing on instinct.

You know who I am.

Her voice trembled as she spoke. "The Force."

A hum of acknowledgment pulsed through the void. Silence followed, heavy and expectant, as if the Force itself was measuring her. Then, the light drifted back.

Follow me.

The words weren't a request.

The orb shot forward. Hazel surged after it, her feet pounding against the glowing path. With each step, the ground beneath her flickered to life, silvery symbols—circles, triangles, constellations—flaring and fading. She ran faster, her lungs burning, but suddenly—

The universe split open.

A tidal wave of visions crashed over her, tearing her away from reality.

The sky over a once beautiful planet burned.

Mountains crumbled into dust. Cities were shattered as fire rained from above. Parents clutched their children in a final, desperate embrace before a blinding wave of destruction consumed them in a blinding light. The Force screamed—millions of voices, snuffed out in an instant.

Hazel stumbled, choking on a breath that wasn't hers.
