Shruti and Mahika sit in a cafe after finishing their shopping. They’ve planned a small skit to honour their teachers. As they sip their drinks, Shruti glances at Mahika, a question sitting unasked on her lips. Mahika, as if she has gauged her thoughts, looks at her.
“Kya hua, Shru? Kuch kehna chahti ho?” she asks, her voice soft.

“Haan, Mahi. Tumne yeh skit plan kiya hai, par kya yeh kaam karega? I mean, humein teachers ko enact karna padega, aur mujhe darr hai ki agar teachers bura maan gaye toh?” Shruti asks, her tone wavering slightly.

“Nahi, Shruti. Aisa kuch nahi hoga. Tum jaanti ho na hamare teachers bahut supportive hai. Aur bura lagne ki baat toh tab hogi na jab hum kuch galat dikhayenge. Tumhe yaad hai na pichhle saal hamare drama group ne bhi aisa hi kuch present kiya tha,” Mahika looks at her friend, giving her the reassurance she could.
“Mahi— mujhe yaad hai. Par phir bhi pata nahi kyun mujhe darr sa lag raha hai,” Shruti voices her concern.

“Tum nervous ho, Shruu, it’s okay. Mujhe abhi nahi lag raha, par tum dekhna jiss din humein perform karna hoga na, uss din mujhe tension hogi. Aur tab tum hi mujhe motivate kar rahi hogi ki main kar sakti hoon,” Mahika responds, her tone light, causing Shruti to smile.
“Yeh toh tumne thik kaha. Par aisa kyun hai, Mahi? I mean, tum itni confident ho, sab kuch itna achche se karti ho, phir aisa kyun?” Shruti asks, her tone soft, curiosity piqued.
