"You've got the spare change, right?"Y/N checked.

"Yep. All accounted for,"I promised.

"Great. Let's just grab everything and go then,"She smiled, unbuckling her seatbelt. As I did the same, she suddenly stopped me, placing a hand on my chest as her eyes widened.

"What-"
"Forgot about the lipgloss,"She explained, quickly wiping my lips with the side of her hand. Too caught off guard, I just sat there as she did so. To be honest, I can't say I would have bothered to budge even if she did warn me.

As she pulled away, breathing a sigh of relief, I saw her hand shine in the sun, reflecting the shimmer we both forgot about that she had transferred on me.

"It's subtle,"I remarked, admittedly scanning her mouth. I didn't catch it since it wasn't the glitter kind, but yeah. Her lips were just shinier than humans were meant to be. Now I couldn't unsee it though. The small change that I would have sworn I would notice.

"Yeah. And a little too risky."

"Maybe. You wear it well though."

"Thanks. It looks great on you too,"She grinned, winking at me before hopping out of the vehicle. Doing the same, I reached into the truck bed, grabbing the bags she couldn't quite get.

"It sure is helpful being taller than you,"I teased.

"You're such a prick,"She insulted, waiting for me anyway.

"You're actually salty about this, aren't you?"

"I'm supposed to be the tall one. I'm stronger, I'm faster, I'm-"
"Better,"I guessed, ducking under the garage door.

"I would never say that,"She denied.

"Can we agree on prettier then?"

"I think you're a very pretty boy. Especially with lipgloss."

"I wouldn't know. I think I need more."

"Nice try, pretty boy. Nice try."

"It was worth a shot,"I shrugged, opening the door for her.

"We got it!"She announced, carrying her bag inside. Doing the same, we placed them on the counter.

"I hope you know how helpful ya' both are,"Aunt Susan complimented, ruffling my hair since I was closest.

"It was no problem,"I shrugged, not even minding her messing it up that much. Only slightly, which I think is quite an improvement seeing as how much human touch I like is limited.

Well, kind of.

"You're both probably hungry."

"Starving,"Y/N admitted, relief lacing her voice as she grabbed the bag, already putting things up. Rushing to mine, I snatched the things inside of it, making her stare at me before shaking her head. Pretending not to notice, I put everything up with her, silently praying my face gave nothing away.

"Just in time for sandwiches then,"She smiled, taking a plate out of the refrigerator. There were exactly three, perfect for us.

We both took one at the same time. Grabbing three napkins, she handed up both one to avoid getting crumbs in the floor. With each of us giving a thanks, we did so.

"Don't worry about it. Anything for you to not mess up my floor,"She said simply, bringing hers to the table. Joining, we sat across from her, thankful for the break. I can just tell that all of us needed it. With how much of a hassle basically everything is out here, it'd be crazy not to. "Thank ya' both. Really. If I could, I'd just never go there."
