Brutus loves water. That should mean that washing him is a breeze. Put a little bit of soap on him and he should be good to go.

"Brutus! Brutus, no! Stay still!"she yelled, firmly wrapping her arms around him. When he was stuck, I managed a third splash of soap on his damp fur, which was not nearly enough.

Before either of us could breathe, he escaped her hold, running through the now muddy Earth. Dropping the hose from my hand, I kept trying to grab him, with Y/N doing the same. I can't tell if it's sweat or the water he shook off making my clothes stick to me, but it's stressful either way.

"Bad dog, bad dog! Stop running!"I demanded, managing to grasp his collar. Proving that useless, he turned around, sprinting between my legs with the force of a comet. My wet shoes, the ridiculously big dog, and the fed up attitude all combined into one mess as he knocked me over, sending me straight to the ground.

"Brutus! What the hell is your problem?!"I snapped, sitting up. My once decent clothes were disgusting, covered in dirt and filth. Even my hair took a hit as it dripped down my head.

"Guess we have to clean you off now."

"Y/N, Y/N, no,"I said as firmly as possible. The hose was carelessly hanging from her hand as she smirked at me. The power imbalance really would end up in history books. The water pressure wasn't painfully strong, but that didn't mean I was eager to be even more soaking wet.

"Don't, don't, no. Not today, Y/N. Please not today?"I pleaded as I scrambled to my feet, my hands up in defense. She looked at the weapon in her hand, then at me. With an innocent smile, she swung it around. When I slowly stepped back, trying to escape, she pressed her thumb against the top as she positioned the stream right at me.

"We're supposed to be paying attention to Brutus! Damnit, Y/N, no! This is not what we're supposed to be doing!"I protested, doing the last thing I wanted to do today and running from water. I could hear her laughing gleefully, cheering on my suffering. The maliciousness of her refusal to stop has to be a sign of something. I'm not sure what, but it definitely isn't in my favor.

"I'm just helping!"she defended.

"This is not helping!"

"What?! It's really helpful?!"

"Y/N-Seriously?! Again?!"I complained when I tripped over a fury black menace face first into the grass.

"That was a fall. Are you alive down there?"she asked, dropping the hose to run over to me. When I turned on my back, staring blankly at her, she leaned down. Her brows were furrowed in genuine concern, a small frown on her lips as she looked over me. My once pretty torturess was now a pretty savior. It seemed a little unfair that she was so perfectly fixing a problem she created, but I'm not surprised.

"I'm alive,"I sighed, reaching for her hand. When she accepted, going to use her beautiful strength to pull me up, I grabbed her ankle, dragging her down with me. The muddy ground was a perfect partner, landing her flat over me.

"I was helping you,"she complained, pouting at me in a way that made me feel bad for just a second. Then, I remembered that she was why I was even in this position and felt completely justified.

"Funny seeing you down here,"I grinned as she sat up, wiping dirt from her forehead.

"Your attitude is getting out of hand,"she grumbled. That didn't stop the way the corner of her mouth twitched though, a glint in her eye that left me frozen as I propped myself up.

Before I could defend myself, the hose was back in her hand as she stood above me. As if it would protect me, I put my arms above my head, trying to stop the water on my hair as she circled me like a hungry shark. Brutus was trailing behind her, his tongue sticking out and tail wagging in joy.
