It seems kind of insane that Y/N was allowed anywhere near a hose after her little stunt, much less with Brutus somewhere around here. Unfortunately for my paranoia, this was a two person job.
She counted to three before tipping over the leftover water with me. It soaked the dirt on the other side but also decided that my foot was a perfect place to go. Not only did my poor tennis shoes not appreciate the abuse, they weren't even made for it. You never realize how thin something is until it's near dirty water. I don't like being wasteful, but these need to go in the trash after this. Or at least a very, very long spin cycle.
"Ugh,"she outwardly complained, her face twisting in disgust at the same feeling. Going with the obvious right thing, as soon as it was as empty as it would get, we lifted it up.
"Slowly. Slowly,"I repeated, watching out for obstacles behind while she technically lead? She's in the front but also backwards, so I guess so. I can't exactly just go off doing my own thing.
"You have to hold it lower."
"I can't. I'm already leaning down,"I explained.
"I don't believe you,"she had the nerve to accuse.
"If I hold it any lower, I'll be crabwalking,"I promised, trying to keep my hold as the metal dug into my hands.
"I'm on my tiptoes already."
"To the left,"I remembered my part, barely catching that she was about to run into the fence. Trying to kill us both, she moved the opposite way as quickly as possible, pulling me along. "No, the other left."
"That would be your left,"she insisted, carefully doing so.
"It's left. Just left."
"Okay, okay. I'm trying. If someone would try to be my height."
"I'm already as low as my arms will let me be."
"You know, at least when I was taller it wasn't an inconvenience."
"Yeah, no. It was really convenient when you'd get us caught somewhere because you were too tall to duck."
"At least that wasn't a safety hazard."
"It's not-dangit, it's not a safety hazard,"I insisted, holding it even firmer.
"Aris, you're pulling on it."
"It's gonna fall."
"Can you actually listen to slowly please?"
"I'm sorry. I'm doing my best,"I promised, trying to die. Somehow, she got it an inch higher, making me have to adjust. When the leftover water overpowered everything, I frantically wrapped my arms around it at the least second. Right as I made it the most unstable inanimate object, she jumped back, narrowly avoiding getting her feet crushed.
"I'm so sorry. It just, I lost my grip,"I rushed out, letting it fall. Speed walking over to her, I grabbed her face while looking her over to check for any scrapes. While I was just trying to make sure I didn't need the first aid kit, she laughed at me. As if to prove she was just fine, she wrapped her arms around me to lift me off the ground. Seeing as I'm not fond of falling on my head, I had no choice but to wrap my arms around her shoulders until I was let out of air jail.
"It's alright. That won't be my first assassination attempt,"she shrugged, her hands making their way around me.
"I don't know if I should care more about that not being an assassination attempt or you doing something to actually have one."
"Don't worry. I'm magic, so I'll never die,"she explained, unwrapping herself from me way too soon. And to think all I wanted was to pass away in her arms. I just can't have anything nice.
