The sun blazed down on the citizens of Massachusetts, but the cool breeze helped the heat to be more bearable for everyone. Sean ran his hands over his forehead that was coated in sweat. He was glad that his car had AC in it, but just the walk from his house to his car alone had him sweating profusely. It was now summer, the weather he'd been hoping for throughout the colder months. Now, he was beginning to forget all of those hopes.

"All of this heat just confirms that I'm more of a fall person," Yazmin groaned. She leaned her head against the window and sighed with content when she felt the coolness from the glass.

"Nah," Sean said as he shook his head. "I think I'm still a summer person."

"You're crazy."

Yazmin turned up the AC and leaned back into her seat. Her frown deepened as they drove into her neighbourhood. Sean looked around the wealthy neighbourhood and prayed that he'd be able to own a large house like the ones he saw. No matter what obstacles he faced, that would always be his main goal.

Sean stopped his car in front of the large black gates leading towards the brown and white mansion. Slowly, he pulled into the front and placed the code in to enter. He drove on the long driveway that led towards her house. Yazmin watched him apprehensively as he placed the car in park and leaned back further into his seat.

"Thank you for letting me stay with you."

"Anytime."

"I feel nervous. I really don't know what to expect."

"Don't expect anything. Just go in there with an open mind."

Yazmin nodded, "You're right."

Hesitantly, she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek before she wrapped her arms around his neck tightly. Sean wrapped his right arm around her and rubbed her back comfortingly. It was evident that she needed some encouragement.

"I hope that I didn't make things confusing."

"With what?"

He knew exactly what she was talking about, but he wanted her to express her thoughts without him having to pull it out of her.

"Us being intimate and then saying what I said."

Sean sighed, "I'm not gonna lie to you, I was a bit confused. You say you don't want this-" He pointed between them. "--and you're constantly kissing me-"

"I never said that."

"Well, the moral of the story is that I don't know what you want. It just seemed like you were giving up on what we have. "

"I wouldn't say giving up."

"Really?" He looked at her as if he didn't believe a word she said.

"I just think that we should be focused on our careers especially as people that are going to be experiencing our first year of college. I've spent my entire life trying and pretending to be someone that I'm not. I want to finally do something for myself without the distraction of a potential heartbreak."
