As the days continued to go on, it grew hotter and hotter. It wasn't new for the summers to be hot, but it was as if it was getting hotter than the previous summer.
Sean grunted as he placed the loaded boxes onto the craft for them to be carried outside. Right after his exams, he headed to work to start his nine hour shift. He only had two hours to go and continuously looked at the large clock on the wall, in hopes that the time would go by faster. Sadly, it didn't.
It didn't help that they didn't have good AC that circulated around the building.
"Let's make sure we're getting everything and the boxes are packed properly for the truck," Sean called out.
His arms ached and felt like they were going to fall off any minute, but he knew that work had to be done before he left. After his promotion, he stepped up to the plate and made sure that he was applying himself. The last thing he wanted was for his supervisors to regret promoting him.
He slipped into the seat of the machine that held all of the boxes on the crafts, and turned it on. Slowly, he drove out of the building towards the truck. Once he neared the truck, Sean got out and helped the guys move everything into the back of the truck. Running his hands over his hair, he sighed tiredly and drove back into the building.
"Alright, we finished most of today and tomorrow's work. I think we can all go home and rest up," Sean started. "I know today was a heavy day. Y'all don't even have to go to the gym today."
Everyone chuckled.
Sean watched as everyone disbursed and began to head to the locker room to grab their belongings. Sean headed into the office and slipped out of his uniform shirt and placed a black t-shirt on. He grabbed his phone and unlocked it to see a few messages from his mother.
What time are you done?"
Sean, something came for you!
Hurry!
Sean frowned with confusion and grabbed his father's keys. He didn't work during the weekend, so Sean was able to use his car.
He didn't know what was so urgent, but he was on the go. Whatever Jennifer was going on about seemed to be serious.
What came for him?"
"Alright, see y'all on Tuesday." Sean headed out the exit door and into the parking lot. He got into his father's car and sped home.
-
Sean locked the car behind him and skipped the steps on the porch. He opened the glass door before he opened the front door with a deep frow in his face.
"Why do y'all keep leaving the door open? No one tell me nothing when someone breaks in here and beats y'all ass."
"Shut up and get in here." His brother; Jared, called out.
