Yazmin huffed as she made a bee line around the plethora of students in front of her. She winced at the hard brush from a random girl she walked past.

It was now lunch time and everyone was running around as if they hadn't eaten in days.

"So, would you like to explain again what happened a few days ago? I couldn't hear you over all this noise."

The group of friends that Yazmin had seen were the only thing that she could think about since she saw them. And everyday she yearned to see them.

"I was on my way one and I saw them again. You should've seen them skating around their town, it was so cool. Then one of the guys looked at me and he was pretty cute," She smiled, pushing the door open from the cafeteria to the outdoor benches.

"That must've been fun. How'd he look?"

"He was black, a little tall, curly hair and the shape of his eyes were just so adorable."

Penny smirked at her best friend and sat across from her. They both unwrapped their food and began to sanitize their hands.

"They didn't act like the people here, they weren't like fucking robots. They were living."

"Seems like you wanna join them," Penny eyed her and took a bite of her sandwich.

Yazmin looked away and bit her lip. It didn't seem like a bad idea.

"Oh no. You're not joining them. We're on separate sides of Boston for a reason. You know how these people around here get."

Yazmin looked around the school and rolled her eyes. She hated it here. No one was real and all people cared about were things that just didn't resonate with her. She couldn't deny that she was one of them, but it still got overwhelming, even for the best of them.

"Yeah, which is why I was thinking about it. It gets stifling around here don't you think?"

"I learn to think it, but not say it."

It was safe to say that Penny was a very cautious person due to her parents. They were adamant about fitting in and staying in your own lane... the lane they created for you.

Like Yazmin's parents.

"I'm not trying to be around them or anything," She lied. "I just want a bit of freedom for once."

Penny raised her arms and looked around the secluded area, "We're outside. We're pretty free."

"Penny."

"Yazmin."

"If I knew that you were gonna piss in my cereal I would've never told you."

"Ew," She mumbled. "Fine! I'm listening."

"I was thinking of letting Curtis take a few days off and take the bus for the rest of the week."

"The bus..."
