Sean rested his head against his pillow and snapped open his tired eyes. He reached over and grabbed his phone off of the dresser next to his bed. After he turned off his alarm, Sean got up from his bed and sluggishly walked to the bathroom across his bedroom. Luckily no one was in there, so he was able to do his morning routine in peace.

Once he got out of the shower and finished the rest of his routine, he trudged down the stairs of his home. The lingering scent from downstairs caused his nose to flare up out of curiosity.

Someone was cooking.

Jennifer stood in front of the stove with a spatula in her hand. She danced to the salsa music that blasted from her phone on the counter. The sound of the wooden floor creaking from Sean's feet caused her to turn around. She gasped and paused the music, and rushed over to her youngest son. Sean chuckled as she wrapped her arms around him.

"My baby!" She yelled with joy. "You're getting so big."

"Mom, what's going on?"

"Since you're graduating,I decided to make you a big breakfast."

With Jennifer working 24/7, she wasn't able to give her boys a big breakfast since they were children.

"Thank you, ma."

He still felt a bit down from all of the events that occurred for the past few weeks, but he'd never turn down his mothers big breakfast.

Jennifer rushed back to the stove and turned it off. Her low hums were all that was heard as she filled his plate and placed it onto the island in the middle of the kitchen. Sean thanked his mother and prayed before he began to eat.

"What's wrong? You don't seem too happy."

She handed him a glass of orange juice and took a sip of her coffee.

"I am happy."

"You sure?"

Grabbing the bowl of fruits from her hand, he placed it onto the counter and drizzled honey all over the fruits.

"Ma, I'm good."

He was excited that he was graduating, finally able to get out of the wretched school. But he couldn't help but think about Yazmin. She was supposed to be there alongside him as he went through an important era in his life. They always spoke about their education and how excited they were to move on with their lives.

There was a battle in Sean's head for years. There was a fear inside of him that didn't want to leave his town. He felt like he was in debt to his city and owed them so much. He felt like he was leaving his family behind. Yamzin helped him see that if he continued to put his life on pause for others he'd never get back on track. What was life if you weren't living it for yourself?

They bonded.

He felt like shit to know that she was no longer in his life.

Jared quickly moved down the stairs and walked into the kitchen. He smiled widely when he realized Jennifer made a big breakfast.
