The scenery passes by as Agastya drives us towards home without any word. My initial worry fades away as I wrap my hands around his torso leaning on his back.
My peace is short lived when Agastya pulls the brakes all of a sudden stopping the bike abruptly. I startle and look at the front only to frown.
"Sorry dada te ball shodhat hoto" a highschool boy apologies to Agastya for coming in front of the bike out of the blue.
(sorry I was searching for the ball)
"Evdhya ratri cricket ka kheltay?" Agastya questions lifting the helmet as he looks at the boy.
(Why are you playing cricket this late?)
"Arey shala chalu ahe na, time nahi bhetat" The boy replies back nodding his head in sadness.
(Because of school we don't get much time to play)
"Bhetat nahi, milat" Agastya corrects him pointedly.
"Ha tech te! tu pan ye na khelyala kiti divas ala nahis" The boy dismisses whatever Agastya said with a wave of his hand and mutters.
(Yes, it's the same thing, You should also come and play with us it's been a long time since you did)
Agastya tilts his head a little looking back at me and I frown. "What?" I ask not getting any word of their conversation.
The boy turns his attention to me finally noticing that there is another person on the bike.
"Oh, hi tujhi bahin ahe ka?" He tips his head at me with a small smile.
(Oh, is this your sister)
Though I didn't get their conversation earlier, I catch the word and immediately understand what the boy is asking. Agastya shakes his head but before he can answer I do it.
"Bayko" I grin at the boy who looks stunned by my answer while Agastya turns his head at me in amusement.
(Wife)
"Kay?!" The boy shouts in surprise as his face glows due the street lamps in the society "Tu lagna kadhi kelas? Amahala ka nahi bolavlas?!"
(what? When did you get married and why didn't you invite us to the wedding?!)
Before Agastya could answer the shocked boy, a few more boys standing in the garden started shouting his name "Rohit!"
Rohit turns around, aggressively gesturing the two boys to come towards us and I watch them start running from a distance.
"Thoda ghait lagna zhala, tyamule sangta nahi ala" Agastya answers gently as Rohit looks at him.
(The marriage happened in a haste, that's why I couldn't inform)
"Agastya dada! Tu itkya divsani?" one of the boys who came running near us asks in excitement.
(Agastya brother! It's been a long time since we saw you)
Agastya chuckles, smiling at them when Rohit starts speaking again tilting his head in my direction "Toh ekta nahiy, tyachi bayko pan ahe sobat"
(He is not alone, his wife is also with him)
