A few days later
There is a lot of chatter and whispering around of the students in the class even after assigning them their work. But that's not what disturbs me from concentrating on my work.
The pen in my hand pauses when I steal a glance at Aadriti who is sitting alone in the middle of the class scribbling on the book infront of her instead of solving maths.
It's not her actions that disturbs me from checking the papers, it's her expressions and body language which breaks my heart. She looks lost and sad as she gloomily scribbles on the paper.
She tried to pretend that she was alright throughout the time I was teaching. I know because I saw her trying to give me a smile that doesn't reach her eyes everytime I looked at her.
And I know the reason very well.
Saransh!
The past few days he has ignored Aadiriti as if she doesn't exist. Today as well he walked right past her without sparing her glance for some reasons Aadriti did not approach him.
Maybe I am the reason!
I was the one who told her to stay away from him, but I did that because I thought he would hurt her if they stayed as friends any longer. I didn't know it would result in her being so gloomy.
It wasn't what I wanted!
And knowing that I am the reason behind her sadness I can't concentrate on anything. Not when Aadriti is sitting alone like that.
Exactly how I spent my entire school life!
The bell rings, bringing me out of my thoughts as I watch everyone packing their stuff and exiting the classroom. I get up from my chair slowly, lingering behind as I collect the books and papers.
Aadriti slows down walking past me and winking at me when no one is noticing. I give her a small smile watching her disappear along with the students.
"Sir-" "later" I cut off the students grouping around my desk and focusing behind them. They walk away along with the others while giving disappointed looks to each other.
"Saransh stay back, I want to talk" I announce when he gets up from his seat as soon as Aadriti has left the classroom. He walks down the stairs lazily coming to stop in front of me.
I keep the books and papers aside, focusing my gaze on him before taking a deep breath. "Look I know you hate me, you have all the rights to do that, but-" I pause, releasing a sigh as I think about my next words.
"Did you stop me here for your personal talks?" Saransh asks, raising an eyebrow.
"I am your culprit right? Then why are you punishing Aadriti? Why are you ignoring her?" I ask dismissing his previous question. Saransh clutches the strap of his back staring straight at me.
"Who I ignore or who I don't is none of your concern" He mutters, pressing his lips in a thin line with displeasure. He glares at me, throwing daggers with his eyes.
"It's not her fault" I try to make him understand "I am sorry for what I did but don't bring her into this, she has nothing to do with this" my fingers curl beside my side forming a fist.
"She has everything to do with this" Saransh answers while greeting his teeth together "Everyone related to you-" He point a finger at me pausing for a second before he continues "I hate them"
