"Aadriti" The voice stops me in my tracks and I contemplate turning around or to just keep walking without bothering to look back.

"Hello! Aadriti?" he calls out again and I have no choice but to turn around and stare at him.

Saransh stands there holding the straps of his bag with a frown as he stares down at me "where did you disappear yesterday? And why didn't you message me?"

His face scrunches in confusion as he waits for me to answer. I stand there not knocking how to speak without feeling guilty for ignoring him.

"Hello? Will you say something?" His frown deepens before he waves his hand in front of my face to gain my attention.

"Uhm I-" I open my mouth to speak with much difficulty. My mouth falls open and shut in the span of a few seconds before someone grabs my elbow.

"Hey Aadriti!" I look to my right and notice Mayuri standing there with a smile on her face. My face morphs confusion at her sudden appearance and Saransh narrows his eyes as well.

"What are you doing here? We are getting late for class, let's go" She tugs my arm pulling me towards her and I glance at Saransh before looking at her confused.

"Can't you see we are talking here?" Saransh mutters in displeasure looking at her with narrowed eyes. My gaze ping pongs between both of them and I wonder what is happening here.

As if she didn't notice Saransh before Mayuri looks at him in surprise "Oh uhm- you can talk later, the classes are about to start" She says before turning around and pulling me along with her.

I make the mistake of looking back at Saransh who is staring at me with his lips pressed together before Mayuri starts dragging me along with her.

"What are you doing?" I finally ask but don't take any actions to stop her.

She looks at me with guilty expressions like she wants to tell me something but she can't. She spares a glance at the back of her shoulder watching as Saransh follows just a few steps behind us.

Without answering my question she guides me towards the college silently. I don't look behind me the whole time, not knowing how to meet Saransh's gaze.

Am I doing the right thing by ignoring him?

The class is already filled with students as they chat among themselves when we enter inside. Mayuri hasn't left my hand as she guides me towards the empty benches.

She gestures me to sit down first before she takes the empty seat beside me sitting at the edge of the row. Saransh stops right beside her side looking at her in anger.

"Get up and sit somewhere else" Mayuri flinches at his voice not daring to look at him "But I am- am already sitting here" she mutters then glances up at him fear.

"So what? Don't you know I sit beside her?" Saransh raises his voice, throwing daggers in her direction. This is the first time I am seeing him angry like this.

"You- you can sit somewhere else, the class will start now-" Mayuri mutters in a low voice barely audible to me.

Saransh turns his attention from her to me glaring at me with the same expressions "Are you not going to say anything?" He asks, raising his eyebrow.

I glance between Him and Mayuri when everyone starts taking their seats hastily. Agastya walks inside the class which causes whispers among the other students as this was supposed to be Amina's lecture.
